They look very good. I hope we are on top of our game when we play them. Otherwise will be a long day.

I believe that it is next year we play them. Others can correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Next year. But my point is that even though until this year they played in the lower division, that is a powerful team. Have no idea what they will lose to graduation, but they look like a well oiled machine.

RE: Georgia Southern............
I said it when it was announced... I hate this match-up for us. Don't like it one bit.

Georgia Southern is a deceptively tough game. It's not an "exciting" match-up for the casual football fan in the first place. If we win, it doesn't really count for much... and if we lose, it has the perception of being a bad loss on our schedule.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather play a bad B1G team like Illinois or Purdue, then ANY Sun Belt team. They just aren't sexy match-ups all around IMO.

RE: Georgia Southern............
I watched parts of the Georgia Southern game tonight. They looked impressive and are having a great season. The husband of one of my former coworkers is on their staff now, so I'd like to make the trip to Statesboro when we play there next season. Not sure if I can swing that and a trip to Waldo for MSU the week before, though - and I think we all know which of those matchups wins out if I have to choose...

I think this is also a problem for the MAC when it comes to potential bowl matchups. Hardcore fans like us will be excited no matter who we play and where, but many "casual" MAC fans won't get very excited about a matchup with a Sun Belt team (or just about any other G5 team).

The ironic thing is Georgia Southern is a far more exciting team to watch. These games with the downtrodden rust belt BIG teams have no upside either, outside a payday check. Our future would be better served finding these up and coming teams and competing with them, broadening our horizons. To me this is a game to look forward to and enjoy.

It would be cool if ESPN/ABC proper saw it that way.

Excellent article about Georgia Southern from Grantland:

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/eagles...-sun-belt/

There's been a lot of talk here lately surrounding P.J.'s future, but Willie Fritz will probably be in even greater demand. Hopefully, both will still be around for what should be great nonconference matchups in 2015 and 2016.

Question would be what P5 program wants to hire a coach that runs the triple option... besides maybe Georgia Tech?

I think it would have to be a program that is in the basement of their conference. It would be a good way to differentiate their identity in the conference. The triple option can be a pain to defend when executed well. A lot of teams are not use to it so it can give you an advantage. I would find it interesting to see a school like Kansas use it. It might give them a way to win more games.

Fritz ran the no huddle spread at sam Houston. He is not a one trick pony. Would Kansas or any low level p5 team like to be winning and ranked like Georgia tech?

Makes a lot of sense for Kansas. Not so much for Fritz. If I'm him, I'd wait for something to open up in the ACC or SEC. Perhaps even Florida.

Fritz played college ball in the state of Kansas.

I think he waits for a job in Texas. He runs the option at GSU because that is their identity.

He's winning. And that's a real credit to him. I'm not convinced Power 5 programs are going to go all in with a triple option coach though.

Dang. I thought I read that the triple option was his bread and butter and he wins 94% of the games his teams rush for more yards than their opponent?
