It tells me a lot about how much respect or attention to give this going forward.
So says the fan of the school in 10th place in Bubas points. :-)

Step up and offer more sports is one answer. I do offer some other stats to go beyond the Bubas Cup official points. I don't think a school should be awarded for having the minimum number of sports to be D1, but there is something to be said about average points per sport sponsored.

Wow, it has been a while since I have seen UTA on top. Usually we are out of it in the fall since we don't offer two sports everyone else usually does. Really impressed with what has gone on this year.

Well...yeah. It is just my opinion as a fan of that school in "10th". I wouldn't trade our athletic performance this year for yours in any shape or form. Sorry if that offends you. How would not having a sport be "awarding" anything?

I am not offended. I don't get worked up over this stuff, trust me. Or at least not worked up to talk about it on a public board.

How many sports does GaSo offer outside of the SBC? Have you started rifle yet? Do you still have swimming and diving?

The Sun Belt office has updated the standings through men's golf, so you can see the current breakdown of points. Softball finishes next weekend, outdoor track and field championships are May 8-10 and baseball wraps up the weekend of the 16th.

My thinking is that schools with great track programs typically will have an inherent advantage. JMO

Since, in my opinion, it takes in 6 of the 18 sports (yes, I count cross country as track and field), I quite agree with you.

For scholarship purposes, so does the NCAA.

This is true ONLY thanks to me. :-)

I got a preview of the postings, as I have been emailing the SB staff that handles the points a few questions. He had the points correct but had UTA listed as 2nd. I pointed it out and he fixed it.

You're welcome.04-bow

Then again, since you are for TxSt maybe I should not have mentioned that to you.

Actually I have caught two mistakes so far this year but I don't think the one involving football made a difference for anyone except the affiliate members. I'll try and even things out in the future but I can only correct what I notice to be incorrect. T&F is going to be interesting for you and UTA this year. A lot riding on both Men's and Women's.

Found out (I was pretty sure but not positive) that one of our Sr WRs decided to do outdoor T&F to finish off his college career. Two weeks ago he hit 47'7" in the triple jump after not doing T&F since HS. No clue where that ranks him in the SBC but I'm impressed. He's also doing the long jump.

I believe he is also running on one of the relays.
