ECU plays UCF next 10/31, then over to USF and hopefully the season sweep. I hope the Lady Pirates can atleast make it go to 5 sets with UCF.

We actually went from 24 to 26 in some power index last week after 2 SWEEPS in conference. So yeah it's pretty miserable apparently.

There was talk about UCF persuiting beach volleyball. How/why on earth did we let that fall through?

Not even kidding, East Carolina is practicing with the UCF marching band CD blasting to prepare for the game.

Volleyball rankings do not usually line up with recent performance; they're much more in line with performance in past seasons. The Huskers have only 1 win, I believe, against a Top 25 team, yet they're #14, because they're such a storied program. Michigan a couple of years ago wasn't even ranked in the Top 25 when they made their Final Four run.

If UCF has some success in the tourney, they'll shoot up the rankings quickly.

But to answer another question, yes, the AAC is not a strong volleyball conference. NCAA vball is all about the B1G and Pac-12. It's not uncommon for half or more of the teams to be ranked. Meanwhile, the SEC seems to have emerged as a new vball power, possibly helped by their ESPN exposure.

Can you blame us?

Lol I'm more impressed that Tulsa finished 3rd even considering that our football team was forced to eat dirt the entire season.
