Cato will be at College Gameday
Hamrick just tweeted that Cato will be in Morgantown Saturday for an interview with Tom Rinaldi and the College Gameday crew.

He might want to wear his helmet. This should be interesting.

I doubt the PR firm had anything to do with it, but what's your thought 3BL?

Really just BSing more than anything. It's probably the right move to try to get Cato out there more and from a PR perspective that's a good move.

He's a record setting leader on the undefeated underdog (i.e. against the institution) with an interesting back story. You almost have to sell that instead of the team, because it's clear no one of ilk is paying attention to the team as a whole.

I do find it hilarious that they're showcasing him in the "elite" WVU's living room.. 03-lmfao

He needs to be aware of questions that put him and Marshall in as bad a situation as possible. I don't know if the espn folks will do anything but pat him on the head as someone who is doing well in "that other level of football he plays in".

RE: Cato will be at College Gameday
I hope they do a good job coaching him up for the interview. You know they will ask him about getting left out of the top 25. He'll probably give the standard "we're not worried about that" response. I would like for him to be a little more bold with his answers, something like "anybody who doesn't think we are a top 25 team probably hasn't watch us play."

At this point you really have little to lose. If the Royals win the World Series I would point out that every single expert on TV said they had no shot in the playoffs. I would also mention that nobody ever saw Butler making back to back championship games in basketball either. After all, they didn't play a top 25 schedule either.

No shot for the Royals, heck they had some saying they didn't even really deserve to be there. Three of ESPN said at the beginning of each series the Royals would be swept. They didn't think the Royals would score more than 3 runs. And here they are 27 outs away from a Championship.

As far as Cato's answer, I think what they have been saying is fine. Those that watch us play know and understand that we have a top 3 offense in the nation and a top 15 defense. Although our defense doesn't get enough love because of the production our offense puts out. If we was only scoring say 24-28 points per game then the defense would be shining though.

As Ive said before, I would line this Marshall team up with anyone in the nation and think we would go toe to toe. We may not have the biggest or most athletic team if we done that but I believe we have just as good of coaching staff and strength program to keep us in games.

ESPN contacted MU about getting Cato to go to gameday in Mtown, not the PR firm. Don't know how good of an idea this is, those fans will be wanting blood, green blood!

I don't watch ESPN very often. Is this a common thing, bringing in college players for college gameday?

I think so. I remember the last GameDay I watched for the whole thing had someone on it from an SEC school. Forget who, though.

I have seen a few times when a player has an off week but I would not say that it is common.

Somehow this just seems like a bad idea….Hopefully they do not interview him on set in front of the WVU fans, that would not be a fair deal for Cato. ESPN should not set him up for that kind of verbal and possibly physical abuse.

As stated on Herdfans.com, he comes from the roughest neighborhood in Miami. There isn't much he can't handle from the inbred hilljack beagle******* of Morgantown or the spoiled rich kids of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
