The noise and crowd will be unbelievable.

For a Thursday night? During winter break?

50,000 strong.......ecu goes to cold places like liberty bowl in late dec. and carry about 12,000 fans so short drive to ecu will be worst first aac title game

RE: UCF will win the AAC
UCF could very well win the AAC.

The ECU/UCF game will be our toughest game to date, for sure.

I think UCF is better than USC-E this year.

RE: UCF will win the AAC
I'm fairly convinced that our team will be able to throw on ECU given the WR corps we have and Holman finally getting it together. The bigger question will be if our offensive line can finally do something on the ground and let Stanback get free.

ECU will get their points but I'm confident that our defense will slow things down on them. Our secondary has proven to be absolutely lock down when they're on.

I hope to God we both win out, and go in at 9-2 and 10-1, because that Thursday night game will be the most anticipated game for me of the season.

Heck….UCF may even have the conference race wrapped up before they ever show up in Greenville. ECU has a couple of very difficult road trips the next few weeks. If we can find a way to win those then we may end up with big game with a lot on the line in Greenville on 12/4 but it would not shock me if we lose before we ever get to that game.

Yeah right. We've drawn 50K once this season. I seriously doubt we draw 50K for a Thursday game, title on the line or not. 50K "strong" is a myth. It's more like 35-40K strong with 10-15K fence sitters. I'd love to be proven wrong.

RE: UCF will win the AAC
At the end of the day there's not really a difference between 45K or 50K. It's still generally the same amount of fans.

We drew 42K for the BYU Thursday night game and people got bent out of shape. It's just 3K less than a sellout.

There will be a good number of fans there.

The AAC needs a showdown on Dec 4th.

Things could be very interesting December 4th, but there are a lot of games to be played before then.

I doubt the players are on here discussing UCF/ECU.

07-coffee3

Judging by our last three games, the players are not executing like they are focused on the game at hand. Surely it is because they are on this board. There's no other explanation.

Until Holman has a few more temples under his belt I won't be confident that we win out

I still really like Memphis's chances to get at least a share of the league title. Schedule sets up great for them the rest of the way.

That about sums it up…We can draw 50,000 but of late that is the exception and not the norm. With that said for what could be on the line in that game I think we would have a pretty good showing but I agree it would be hard to get 50,000 for a Thursday night game…Too many of our fans have very long drives to Greenville and it is just very difficult to coordinate that during the week with a family and work.

Like you said, we have a solid base of about 40,000 fans…The other 10,000 will only show up for a big name opponent on a Saturday when the weather is great.

Could happen…we could have several teams at the top with one loss when the season ends.

54,000???? We can't even hold that many. The announced crowd was a hair over 51,000 and yes, I was at the game.

Quote:By the time an "Our State" chant rained down on Bagwell Field with about two minutes left, the crowd of 51,082 - the most to ever see a game at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium
http://www.ecupirates.com/sports/m-footb...14aab.html

Trivia question for you... How many times have we drawn over 50,000 since expansion? I'm just saying, we've got a great fan base but some of y'all have a tendency to over-exaggerate things quite often. No reason to blow smoke up people's butt around here.

We drew over 50K once all last season, vs Virginia Tech. We typically draw between 40K to 45K for conference opponents. On a Thursday you can expect about 40K. Given that this game COULD be for the AAC championship I'll say 45K max.

All that said, it's pretty damn good for a G5 program.

UCF had one complete game in Temple, I'm not ready to crown them anywhere near champion. It's a nice thought, but they still have a lot to prove.

How many showed up for the conf. Champeenship game vs. houston? (Note we didnt have end zone seats then).
