Maybe not, but this poll shows we control our own destiny so that's all I'm concerned about. We have to find a way to take care of our own business. I'm just glad stressing over the poll is done now.

It's not a trap game if you aren't favored to win by more than a touchdown.

If ECU has a line of -7.5 or more against UCF, I'll be surprised.

Right this second I don't know if ECU would be more than a 3 point favorite over UCF.

W. Kentucky

ECU remaining schedule:

@Temple
@Cincinnati

@Tulsa
UCF

If both teams win out, regardless of how either team "looks", there's virtually no way Marshall gets past ECU. The SOS for Marshall will continue to plummet as the season goes on while ECU's will get stronger. And I listed those trap games as traps because Marshall was on upset alert for an entire half at home vs FAU, and playing against those old CUSA East teams that are familiar with you can be tricky. I think ECU pretty much respects all of the teams they have remaining on the schedule, and would be foolish to overlook any other them... maybe except Tulsa.

If both teams take care of business---then an ECU win over UCF might be an additional gold star on the ECU schedule.

I'll feel more comfortable if teams like CSU, Boise, and Marshall stumble once. But if UCF and ECU can win out leading up to the December 4th game... Wow things will be absolutely crazy in NC.

I'm mulling making the trip. Went to the ECU-Marshall game a couple years ago and that was fun.

Only one team, MTSU, on Marshall's schedule has winning record. Now that is a weak SOS.

They can't. No AD will touch them with all those NQs.

I'd be a lot happier if UCF was ranked 24th. I want the AAC in the Access Bowl.

Except our ad apparently. Fml...

Ding, ding, ding. That is well known info in coaching circles. Many P5 schools (especially SEC) will not play Marshall due to their use/admissions of NQ. Marshall tries to dress it up but players who belong in JUCO or post-grade schools "somehow" get in there and get the necessary grades.

That overall Poll sucks but I am glad that ECU is the highest ranked... but I will gurantee to you that the BS that is going on in that poll will lead to expansion of the playoff much quicker.

I grew up in Indiana and have been a Notre Dame fan for years until I went to USF and then I became a fan of both. When ND only has 1 loss, on the road to the #2 team in the nation and then gets ranked as 10th? Total BS. IF they win out and dont make the playoff, you will see expansion happen much quicker.

Does anyone have a site that has an "Others receiving votes" section? I don't see it here, http://espn.go.com/college-football/playoffPicture

A worse problem for Marshall is if Boise State loses one more game and Colorado State wins out.

Well this poll is very encouraging that they are not going to just say winning trumps all regardless of who you play. This will encourage G-5 teams in the future to continue to schedule 2-3 P-5 teams a year.

Any other ECU fans think it's divine providence that ECU is #23 in the first ever CFP poll?

Don't worry, ECU fans will know what I'm talking about.

They are looking for quality wins, and Notre Dame has zero.

Then Colorado State would get it, because they are also 6-1 with two P5 wins.

For the hundredth time, Csu can only get it if Boise loses.

Yes we realize that. The assumption in mention Colorado State is that Boise State will lose again.

Educate me. If there was an others "receiving votes category" Colorado St. should be ranked ahead of Boise for only having one loss compared to two for Boise. Even if Boise is the MWC champ if CSU wins out can't they still be ranked higher in this poll????

The problem is that Colorado State is in the same division of the MWC as Boise State. Boise State won the head to head game against them, which means that Colorado State can not be the MWC Champion, because they can not go to the MWC Championship game unless Boise State loses another game. Only conference champions can go to the Access bowl.
