Quote:They could maybe get an FCS home game at this late date but there aren't power 5 Ads looking to start a series next season. Its too late for that kind of thing.

To LOWER their SoS, though?

I could see a MAC team doing that, wanting to keep a bowl-eligible record, etc.

But MSU's not in position to lower their schedule. Plus, they just didn't select us "just because", as in-state opp. It's a big media thing to have 2-1's for EMU/CMU/WMU. It's their end of the bargain there.

IMO, it's nothing even to remotely 'fear'. How often do they nix in-state games like that? Plus, compared to low-belly D1AA teams from Tennesse or wherever, it's going to add more excitement/fans for the game as well -- all while feeling comfortable of winning. It's a great happy medium. No motive for them to drop us. Doesn't make sense.

I'm sure they are shaking in their cleats. Come on man, they are now a top ten program, I doubt they are fearing a trip to Kalamazoo.

Conventional wisdom says they blow us out. But I'm here to say we have a chance to get the OMG moment.

I agree. As much as we've improved, we haven't suddenly overnight morphed into Boise 2.0. Much of the positive attention focused on our improvement has centered around how young we are - well, we're going to have a number of freshmen and redshirt freshmen playing their first collegiate game against MSU. Bottom line - MSU has no reason to be shaking in their boots at the thought of playing us in Waldo at this point. From their point of view, at the rate we're improving, better to come to us in 2015 instead of 2016 or 2017.

That's all I needed to see from this thread for now.

We'll show 'em some goodwill!

I think, unfortunately, that's the attitude too much about it all. We're a MAC team who hasn't won a MAC title in decades, who is 5-3 ... after being 1-11 the previous year. Yeah, I really think MSU is even remotely thinking "OMG, we got to get out of our 2-1 contract with WMU! They're going to row the boat on us!" Even any shred of related thought is Laughable. Nor are they going to go in the opposite direction "OMG, we need something tougher! Where's Oklahoma?!" when they have to play UM, Ohio State, and Nebraska Away next year, while playing Oregon again + ditching a D1AA team + super-gimmie bad team like EMU -- and playing 3 competitive Mid-Majors instead (CMU, @WMU, Air Force).

It's about as silly as Fleck leaving at the end of the year, going 7-5 (or even 8-4) because he wins a bowl on top. Not going to happen. :)

THANK YOU for speaking with a realistic opinion of things.
