that article was terrible and comical. but this thread is pretty funny too.

you guys are kidding yourselves. If Benson came out tomorrow and asked the SB members and fans,

"we can pick our 12th member, they all want to join, who do you want?
JMU, Liberty, EKU, Tennessee ____, Jax St, etc, etc, etc"

you all know the overwhelming choice would be JMU.

PS - Missouri State isn't close to ready tomorrow, so they wouldn't be an option.

This article sounds like most of the FCS zealotry garbage I read on GSUfans and AGS for nearly a decade. Just about all of it BS.

If they asked the fans out of that list, the overwhelming choice would be "who is JMU?" Let's be real: Your university doesn't have name recognition to make folks clamor for your invite. (Before you start in, neither did/does my school or most of the schools in the Sun Belt)

The fans that do know who you are have severely soured on JMU.
Admin? No clue. I would hope they see that JMU is doing what every team should be doing: Looking out for their best interests.

Yep and you're kidding yourself if you believe your leaders would pick up the phone, what a joke of an AD. Good luck.

The informed fan would probably say no to JMU. I know I would.

But somehow, you're still a wee FCS program. 07-coffee3

That's funny. However, I have already decided the next Football additions to the Sun Belt if so required are in order of preference: drum roll please

1. Missouri State
2. UT - Arlington
3. Kennesaw State
4. Florida Gulf Coast
5. North Florida
6. Coastal Carolina
7. East Tennessee
8. Eastern Kentucky

After that, the door shuts.

I had to laugh. It's an aluminum monstrosity that is huge on one side and microscopic on the other. I can think of several better stadiums in FCS...Montana for starters.

Not even in the same ballpark as Princeton Stadium. Built in 1998 with 27,800 seats. This place is a palace.

Best case is JMU wakes up, Mo. St. makes a commitment and they replace Idaho a couple years from now. Worst case we don't add anyone. Pretty good either way.

It is my understanding they would have to do some big time fence mending. Numerous SB Presidents were not at all happy with the JMU administration's comments about the Sunbelt.

If the choices were JMU, Liberty, EKU, Tennessee State/Tech, Jacksonville State, the AD at AState would ask if EKU has addressed the issues from their study and if the answer is yes, AState would support EKU.

There is a sour taste in Jonesboro and Little Rock regarding JMU.

From what I've heard the good folks down in Lafayette don't want JMU.

Georgia Southern and App had fans emailing and tweeting AD's in support of their addition. I am not so inclined regarding JMU and figure I'm not alone.

Southern Illinois?

Yep, they are another regional rural type school with about 17,000 enrollment, some history of decent football (4 10-win seasons since 2000), a pretty good basketball school with Sweet Sixteen appearances in 1977, 2002, 2007 and 10 tourney appearances. One of the newer football stadiums in FCS. They also bring a new state into the mix.

Main drawback is that their city/region has not been growing and the reason they have given for not considering an FBS move.

Highly unlikely candidate, but one that I would welcome if they chose to move.

SIU would be within a 5 hour drive of both Missouri State and Ark State.
