Bowl possibilities for Sun Belt
If I am ranking Sun Belt teams ability to get bowl eligible right now I would rank them like this:

1. Arkansas St.
2. Louisiana
3. Texas St.
4. South Alabama
5. ULM
6. NMSU (would have to win remaining 4 games to get to 6-6 which is very unlikely)

So realitically there are 5 teams with a shot. ULM has to win 3 of remaining 5 and if you look at who they play I believe it is unlikely they get to 6 wins either.

If I am predicting right now I say Ark. St., Louisiana and the winner of the South Alabama/Texas St. go to bowls this year.

Bowl possibilities for Sun Belt
ULL, stAte, USA most likely IMO.

...and putting the O/U at five posts for what we all know this thread will turn into.

Yeah, if we can get past Idaho this week then we have 3 of final 4 at home with that long trip to San Marcos in a weeknight. If we get to 7 wins I think we are about a lock. Montgomery most likely.

So, actually, you mean the recipients of bowl invitations will be:
1. Louisiana
2. Arkansas St.
3. South Alabama
4. TXST
5. LA-Monroe

Got it.04-cheers

I am hoping if we have 4 bowl eligible teams there is a 4th spot for that 4th team this year.

RE: Bowl possibilities for Sun Belt
I think TXST will beat GSU and NMSU to get to 6 wins. It'll take more than that to get a bowl so they need one out of GS, stAte, and USA. I think USA is the "easiest" even though its on the road. So keeping my fingers crossed.

Now if we are sitting pretty at 6 wins headed into the GSU game and lose, I'll have a meltdown. Fair warning.

RE: Bowl possibilities for Sun Belt
I think we place four.
Cajuns - NOLA
Red Wolves - Montgomery
Jaguars - GoDaddy
Bobcats - Heart of Dallas

If there aren't too many upsets around the nation, Georgia Southern may make it. The lowest credible estimate among those I trust is SIXTY-EIGHT will get eligible under the conventional rules. The highest credible estimate I've been given is 78.

If we are sub-76 the next selection goes to 6-6 lacking a countable FCS, then any 6-6 (Buffalo needs this but may come up short), the 6-7 league title game losers (unlikely to be one), then 6-7 who played in Hawaii.

The Hawaii exception may come into play in only one case. Washington is 5-3 but have a decent shot of getting to 7 wins. Oregon State is 4-3 but doesn't apply to them because they scheduled 12 games. Wyoming is 3-5 and only scheduled 12. Nevada is 5-3 and only scheduled twelve.

That would then trigger the 6-6 or better transitional teams.

A lot of football to be played but unless a bunch of teams start kicking it in, the Eagles have a shot.
