RE: Which AAC team is going to what bowl game?
I think Tiger fans will want Birmingham, no matter the payouts or prestige of the other bowls.

It's by far the closest drive from Memphis and offers an SEC opponent, which the majority of Tiger fans will want to see.

I think it's entirely conceivable that a 9-3 (or even 8-4) Memphis team vs. Florida, Arkansas or South Carolina could draw 15,000+ Memphians to the game.

Can someone break down the prestige (from best to worst that isn't the Peach) ?

If UCF (If all goes our way), and wins out at least to be 2nd best in conference, what bowl would be best one to go to with the best talent?

After the Peach there is no prestige... we have a pretty crappy bowl lineup.. and it wont matter. The second best team doesnt go to the second best paying bowl anymore. They look strictly at who will sell the most tickets to the bowl.

Payout wise I think it goes

Military
Birmingham
Armed Forces
St Pete

Miami the pay hasnt been set.

I don't think the AAC will fill all the bowls. You might see some trading with other conferences if that happens. I don't think the Big 12 fills all their slots either.

The ACC already has 5 bowl eligible teams, plus Notre Dame. Miami and BC both have 5 wins and each have at least a single game that is winnable. Thats 8 bowls... They'll be taking all their slots, since I believe they only have 7 guranteed bowls plus the playoff for a total of 8. (plus they have 5 teams with 4 wins)

The Big 12 has 4 Bowl eligibly teams and Oklahoma and OSU have five wins. They will have 6 bowl teams. They do have 6 bowls and the only way they dont fill is if one makes the playoff, which isn't likely.

I hope. What the AAC needs is for whatever bowl our teams go to, that we sell well.

We have to remember that the pay difference is minimal. I think our best bowl pays a bit over $1 million and our lowest is around $600K. Top to bottom, its really not big difference.

The only game I think OSU can win on their left schedule is Texas, and that's not a given. Texas, OSU, Tech, ISU, and Kansas won't be bowl eligible.

I think they could beat Oklahoma too. Its happened before.

Either way it wont benefit the AAC. The ACC very well may end up with more teams eligible then bowl games and they have contracts to fill.

I think there is a better chance the SEC doesnt fill all their bowls. They have 9 that they are contracted with and that doesnt include the playoff.

The Birmingham and Advocare bowl very well could both need replacement teams.

Does anybody know why the American Conference website still lists that we have the Bahamas Bowl in 2014?

American Athletic Conference Bowl Lineup - 2014-19

Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg, Fla. – vs. ACC
Miami Beach Bowl, Miami, Fla. – vs. Conference USA

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl, Fort Worth, Texas – vs. Army/Big 12
Bahamas Bowl, Nassau, Bahamas – vs. MAC

AAC will only get 5 bowl eligible teams. Temple won't make it, neither will USF, well we know how bad the rest are. Horse trading will occur.

the ACC already has 6 because Notre Dame can take one of their bowls if they do not take a playoff spot... and Boston college and Miami only need 1 win out of 4... they both have at least 1 or 2 winnable games. Miami will beat Pitt and probably UNC too. Boston College I think will beat Virginia Tech and if not, they will beat Syracuse.

The ACC will have 8 and with Notre Dame it will be 9.

and I wouldnt count out USF and Temple. I think its gonna come down to a single game.

Temple is the slowest football team I've seen in the last 30 years. They are not very good. They will be 5-7 at best. Have you looked at all the other conferences? With all the bowls they have now it will be difficult to fill them. I could give a rat's ass about the ACC. Look around the country not just on the east coast.

UCF is most likely going to the St. Pete to face an ACC team. I like the matchup.

they dont..they had inflated stats up until 2 weeks ago, and since then they havenhaven't been statistically the best..

eye test or stats its between houston and ucf on what you think is more important in a defense

It doesn't work that way in the AAC...if you aren't in the access bowl, its about who will sell the most tickets to what bowl.

That's why I'm betting UCF goes to St Pete vs. an ACC team...should sell out, good opponent, your own backyard.

They played two teams with a pulse Houston and UCF and got rolled. They will finish no better than 5-7. Was not impressed at all.

7 bowls for 12 teams...
c-usa owns it but we are still in rotation, we g`2 years in the bahama but we traded it to c-usa so they could be part of their own bowl year 1 and we preferred byu to c-usa when opening ours..

it was a 1 year trade we are still obligated to be in it, 1 year over the next 6

cure has nothng to do with that and was a bowl added after everything had already happend months later..

we also have 2 secondary bowls ..so depending on the year, cause some are rotational and secondary, we could have 10 spots for 12 teams lol..i doubt we ever fill more than 7
