Anyone from their work, library, wi-fi will have a different IP address. Also, there's sites to surf the web thru their site which will give off a different IP address. It's VERY easy to do.

Nice primer Todd!! 03-2thumbsup

Glad someone realizes that. Jeeze, you can tether off of your smart phone and have a different IP. That's how these guys have done it all this time.

Retired, no IPhone. What's my next option?

The library. An iPad or a more reasonable, cost-effective Droid version of said things.

Or just Google "Browse with different IP". Go to a site and browse thru there. Pretty simple stuff. :)

The thing is, I do enjoy almost all of the personalities on this board, and actually like the occasional sparing. Enough in fact to engage in it myself from time to time. Collectively this is a pretty bright group, and without doubt we are all passionate Broncos.

Its embarasing having to get scolded by the boss though. We need to keep things in perspective. I love checking this board; especially during the fall and winter. I get great information and good views on my favorite subject. But thicker skins might benefit everyone. I hope my CMU friends don't read some of this. They will accuse wmu of having a special major in being disfunctional.

I would rather be a part of a dysfunctional family than I would a criminal family.

RE: >>>>> Aliases -- Fair Warning <<<<<
Several posts in here are talking about avoiding through using a secondary IP. You're not as clever as you may think. A proxy server is hosted in a server facility, because it needs the large upstream bandwidth. Who should be legitimately accessing our site out of a datacenter? No one. So when I find attempted registration out of a datacenter or NOC, I torpedo THE ENTIRE NETBLOCK. The next gen of MyBB will make my checking at registration nearly effortless and almost entirely automated. TOR, public wifi, and cellular networks also aren't as GTS-proof as you may otherwise have hoped they would be. When you get my attention, you'll find it hard to get past me. Ask the Memphis trolls. And even if you do manage to get an account approved by stumbling into a gray area, I can flag it as high probability alias and your first transgression is insta-ban.

this is amazing. How many people have more than 1 username?

Can we just get that number, no names?

I have always, on this board, and the old board, used just 1 name.

Although I have been accused before, I've always only had this one account (same couple IP addresess and cell phone). Plus I'd be willing to wager that I'm the only one posting from the city I live in on this board.

Sure thing.

BandBronco13 (banned) = BrianPersky (banned) = Hoekjeness (you) = ThatRIVALSguy = wmubroncopilot

You can donate the $20 to the Institute For Justice or Electronic Frontier Foundation or Free Software Foundation on behalf of CSNbbs.com ... and be sure to post your receipt.
