I don't recall the Cajuns being cocky leading up to last year's game. We'd just lost to ULM and our starting quarterback was out. Only a fool would be cocky under those circumstances.

Agreed. The Cocky attitude was more prevalent for the ULM game. Once the Warhawks won and Broadway went out, many were very concerned.

I just remember it was a surprise loss, even with Broadway out.

Glad the App St fans are chatting about the weather.

Eagle fans will be watching that USA-Louisiana matchup closely, pulling for the Jaguars. Not only do we want to win the conference outright, but the margin for error would be nice. If the good Brandon Bridge shows up it should be a good game.

Oddsmakers say:

GASO by 24
TA&M by 32
App by 7
TxSt by 9
ArkSt by 16
ULL by 7

According to history ( by way of Phil Steele ),

USA and GSU have 34% chance of pulling the upset.
NMSU has a 26% chance
Idaho has a 13.5% chance
Troy has a 7% chance
and ULM has around a 1% chance

Yes, I'm saying there's a chance.

I wish I had gotten some weather info the last time we played at ECU and known it was going to be liking sitting in satan's butthole the whole game

Based on last year's total domination of the Cajuns, this should be a cakewalk for the Jaguars. Their coach would be well-served to concentrate this week on stAte instead and use the Cajun game as a warm-up.

RE: Week 10 predictions
I love how people have no f'n clue how this stuff works. If there are enough eligible teams you have zero chance of getting a bowl. If there aren't enough eligible teams you will be given a chance. How hard is that to comprehend? It's not up to espn, it's going to be up to the bowls and they will always do what will make them the most money. Even our fans don't understand how it all works, there are people constantly calling in about how we need to go to a "better" bowl. They start pinning the tail on the donkey about this bowl and that bowl, news flash..you don't just get to pick where you go. There are tie ins and contracts that they follow.

I understand the principle very well thanks. Even if I did not, there are 12 threads about it on our home board and 17 about it here. I just think it would be funny to have some signs there, I'm sure some of our students will take care of it. No need to jump in with all the douchebaggery.

why is it always a Ulala fan who seems to instantly get butt hurt when the words "Georgia Southern" and "bowl" get brought up in the same post?

We know how it works. Our AD made a video on how it works. It would still be funny to see those signs in the stands on national TV.

Calm yourself.

Saturday:

ULM at Texas A&M on SEC Network - ULM forgets that Aggies biggest weekaness is their defense and plays super conservative again after seeing how well it worked for three quarters against Texas St. Against a former Fran coached team it has to work right?. Aggies 45-16

Texas St at NMSU - Fran thinks hes figured out play calling and calls multiple draws up the middle and bubble screens on third and long. After five straight three and outs hes lets his OC call plays and the Bobcats fight their way back again. Aggies turnover problems continue to hurt them. Bobcats 31-21

Georgia St at App St - App St think weather is their biggest advantage and don't game plan for the Panthers. Georgia St remembers they play better on the road and get a confidence boost. Arbuckle forgets his hand warmers and throws a pick six at the end. Mountaineers 34-31

Arkansas St at Idaho - Anderson decides that he will only call half a dozen trick plays and punt the ball when in the Vandal end zone. Idaho fans wish they played outside to take advantage of the weather App style. Red Wolves 38-17

South Alabama at Louisiana - Cajuns get cocky like they did last year against USA. USA takes early lead but then Ul's RB takes over and puts an end to it. Ragin Cajuns 42-31

Georgia Southern over Troy. Reasons obvious.

ULM loses to aTm. SEC vs. SBC.

Texas State will win a squeaker over NMSU

Georgia State in an upset over Appalachian State.

Arkansas State will beat Idaho by a substantial margin.

Louisiana will drop a close one at home against South Alabama as Brandon Bridge will bring his A-game.

I'm perfectly calm, our fans don't know how it works either...in general, the masses don't understand how it works. We didn't got to a bowl for 40 years and now we should just go to a "better one". Unfortunately the bowl situation for everyone is less in our control than most people realize. I think 5 sunbelt teams from last year can attest to that.

I have to agree with this our teams need to take care of business and if they do that good things will happen.

The 5 SBC teams he referred to had all taken care of business on the field [to the extent of being bowl eligible] and no good things happened.

I understand that but last year the SBC only had two guaranteed spots and four other teams from other conferences also got shafted because of not enough bowls. Look if your team wins every game (takes care of business) your going to see good things happen. In the future I think their will be enough bowl games that at least 5 SBC teams will be going bowling.
