Did anybody else notice hundreds and hundreds of students leaving about 5 minutes into the game? I wonder if they just came around for the Dunn Zone goodies and then cut out? Maybe going to a UM MSU watch party?

Agree with those attendance comments. No doubt in my mind that they under-counted at 20,225. Had to be 24-25k at least.

It looked like a good crowd on TV and from the looks of tailgating pictures it sure seems like people had a good time. Have to appreciate those optics even if the official attendance record is so so. I hope we had some recruits on campus to see that crowd and that performance. Not many MAC institutions can match our game day experience when the weather crowd and team performance line up like that. Another reason why we shouldn't be playing on ***** Wednesday night! And I say this as a guy who can't get to games but love to watch from afar.

Well, I have to drive more than three hours each way, and wasn't planning on attending another home game this year because the remaining home games are so late in the year, but I am thinking I may go to the eastern game. My son wants to take a college visit to check out westerns engineering school, and he can do that on November 14th, the day before the eastern game. I am already looking into having a meeting and some hearings moved so that we can go. If weather is decent I will make it happen.

We are going to the CMU game in mt pee for sure. That will be cold and miserable. A wmu alum who works for independent bank, along with some of his colleagues who graduated from cmu , usually have a nice pregame inwhen game is played in mt pleasant. Hope he does it this year.

It hurt to part with my tickets in one of the tailgate lots, Saturday. Team doing well and with the weather so great would have been a Fantastic day to be there. Even my wife commented to me that she would rather be at the game, as we were sitting at the speedway waiting for racing to begin.

Of course, once we saw the kids on the track we were happy with our decision. Still regret missing the game though. In the end, WMU won and both kids took home a trophy. It was a good weekend.

You could have had "EMU attendance" to the Speedway, and gone to the WMU game -- you know, the kind where you mysteriously buy tickets but don't show up. 03-wink

But, to be fair, treating one's kids like they're EMU football is cruel & unusual.

You go:

[img](link to image)[/img]

Replace "(link to image)" with a URL to one. You don't UPLOAD them. You link them.

http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b604...ffe134.jpg

That's a link you could put in-between the [img] and [/img]

^This, but first you have to set up a way to upload the photos to a free hosting service so you can get a link you post. I used photobucket, but I have no idea if I'm doing it right. Obviously my pics show up here, so I must be doing something right.

I'm a big fan of Imgur for hosting:

http://imgur.com/

When you upload there (other sites do this too, I'm sure) a window pops right up with all the handy BBCode you need to insert into a post on this fine forum.

Nice pic!

How is that just 20K? Feels a lot closer to 25K.

Here's a recap of an Ohio fan's visit to Waldo. Mostly positive. I was pleased to read that Bronco fans were so friendly to him when he arrived at the stadium. Good sportsmanship.

Yeah -- I would say the forum expressed both positive and negative. I would put it at honest, a little overly critical... we do need a better video board (we're getting one), and yes, the bathrooms could use some more room/space. What I don't think was too exaggerated in the negative was this, though...

Quote:but their halftime show was the worst I've seen since Tennessee's band did the Patti Page show. It was a western-themed snoozefest.

I am guessing the whole "girl from Kalamazoo" thing. They need to drop that, or jazz it up big. Maybe the DJ can jump in on it, I dunno. 03-wink I'm not a fan of that (being repeated), and I can see visitors taking that as the 'highlight' being rather drab. If our fans loved it to death -- I would be 100% fine with it... but I suggest pumping it up. Maybe a more modern version "I met a girl from Wayside at last call..." 03-wink

I'm glad that he had a good experience with our fans, but I thought that his description of our campus was extremely inaccurate. I don't consider our campus to be spread out or disconnected at all. Yes, there's East Campus (maybe this guy tailgated there?) and Engineering Park, but the heart of campus is very compact. I didn't like that this Ohio fan badly misrepresented this (he did say that he didn't make it around much of campus).

I've been to every MAC campus except UMass, and I won't dispute that Ohio has the most beautiful campus in the MAC. I know this Ohio fan is writing from that perspective. We're not far behind, though. I can only speak for myself, but the beauty of the campus when I visited for the first time was one of the main reasons why I chose to attend WMU instead of other schools. When he says he can't see why someone would choose to attend school here because of the campus, he is 100% wrong.

I also know that Ohio has an outstanding band, and again - this Ohio fan is writing from that perspective. Our band is, again, one of the better bands in the MAC, though, and I thought that he was very dismissive of our band. It's homecoming. What did he expect - that we were going to start playing the Ohio fight song?

I agree with you 100%. Exactly what I was going to say.
