I'm not trolling, I actually give credit, where credit is due, I came over before and congratulated ECU on their romp of UNC, but to make such a dumb comment about us going to Div II playoffs after your performance last night and having a rough time with USF, I figured my comment was warranted!

To be fair, USF and UCONN have more talent than any team you have played so far. I have been watching CONference USA games for a long time, and the athletes these teams have are across the board better than Conference USA schools. Last year ECU beat many of the bad teams Marshall is beating by the same type of margins. If UCOnn and USF were as bad as FIU or even SMU, who we beat by 21, we would not have stayed as close to them as we did.
I knew that USF had talent, I was surprised that UConn had the players they had. In truth, we will never know how good Marshall is because of the weak schedule they have. Marshall may in fact have beat the UNC, Va Tech and come close to beating South Carolina. But since Marshall has played no one with a pulse we will never know just how good or average they are.

The bottom of our league is bad. Can't sugarcoat that at all. However LA Tech and FIU couldn't beat FCS schools. Their signature wins were against us. Our signature wins were sec, acc, and BYU. Big difference...

I think it is pretty clear that they're not actually trying to get into the playoff. This is obviously a subtle way of helping their way into the access bowl. It's a smart move.

Absolutely concur on the high level of athlete UCONN and USF have on their rosters. There are some talent gaps but overall they have very good athletes. And of course it's logical that the do because they were competing for BCS level athletes in the Big East, and I assume and hope still are. Both of those programs will be back sooner rather than later.

Waste of money. If Marshall wins out and ecu slips up or Colorado State doesn't win their conference, they are going to get the access spot. You can't campaign with the committee so I don't get the point.

your next year schedule is

instead of wasting money into getting people to believe you deserve a playoff spot playing no one
CUSA hired the firm, not Marshall.

This. But again, this is a move by CUSA to help Marshall. Marshall did not hire the firm; CUSA did.

So is CUSA already naming Marshall the champ?
Hope Skip Holtz's La Tech team beats Marshall in the CUSA Championship Game.

That's the first thing I thought about. Are the other CUSA teams just planning to let them win every game?
Which actually brings up a great point..... Considering the guaranteed "Access Bowl" and payout for the best for G5's is there an incentive for conferences to game the system in that way?

The payout is not as much as you think. I believe the conference that gets the Access Bowl gets like 10 million. Not much once you split it

What it is you guys are scared to death that Marshall and CUSA will steal the access bowl away from the American Conference and they may well pull it off!

No, actually we're rooting for Marshall to play Louisville in the Potato Bowl.

RE: Marshall hires a PR firm
Conference USA knows Marshsll won't make the playoffs. What they're doing is trying to get a PR firm to help them with a playiff campaign hoping that will stir some things up and force the committee to put an undefeated Marshall in the access bowl. It's like fast food workers asking for 15 an hour knowing that will never happen but hoping they will get a two dollar raise to shut them up.
