RE: ECU vs Uconn
Well you Marshall fans likely won't have to worry about "passing" ECU, because at this point it looks like ECU has gone in the tank. It will have to either get changed in a hurry or Temple is going to beat us.

You guys will roll Temple.

Paper tiger if I've ever seen one.

They'll lose at least 4 of their next 5 games.

If I could bet on them not being bowl eligible, I would.

RE: ECU vs Uconn
ECU may lose one more but not two. Thats beside the point. The fact that P5 Cartel has warped college football to where we caniblize each other instead of gunning for them, is what has me razzled. ECU, CSU and Marshall all have legitimate arguments for an access bowl. IMHO the all should be in instead of a 3rd or 4th SEC, PAc12, Bigten ect..

It is pretty pathetic, though.

The announcers were making like a loss to an "Illinois" or "Wake Forest" was better than any win they had on their schedule.

I'm sure Marshall tried to schedule better.

I'm actually getting tired of the G5 and P5 talk. That's just another way for them to separate themselves, if they don't have enought advantages already.

Mid-Major this, G5 that. They were even talking about "low majors" last night-- for football.

Who is a low-major ?

First lets agree that ECU is better this year than last year.
Last year ECU cruised through CUSA except for Marshall and MTSU.
This year ECU is struggling with the " crappy" teams of the American.

While ECU, should be playing better, the American teams are good enough that if you have an off day you're not going to cruise. That really didn't happen last year.

Also, it was in the mid 50's, and not much humidity. The ball was pretty slick, and we dropped at least 7 passes. UCONN packed the box every play so we really had no choice other than to pass. I thought our defense played pretty well for the most part. They had two big plays, and if those balls are swatted down UCONN probably only scores 7. As for whoever said we threw a lot of jump balls, I only remember one the others were just deep passes. Fades aren't really a jump ball when Carden throws them.

Attendance was pretty pitiful, I think we had more for FAU last year on a Thursday. Students showed up, and had a solid 9-10K.

Didn't you guys lose to Tulane last year? Or are you not counting Tulane as they are now in the American?

The latter

Yeah I just read in the last couple of days the AAC referred to as a "small conference". Any words that can be dreamed up to denigrate the G5 seem to be fair game for the media.

The latter

CUSA was a lot worse last year and ECU still lost 2 conference games. The American was better last year than it is this year. Now the CUSA and American are equivalent as of right now.

#102 South Florida, #122 Uconn, #125 SMU. Don't pull some crap about how they're so much better because they're in the American. #116 UNT destroyed SMU. FAU destroyed Tulsa. ECU let arguably the worst team in America hang around with them going into the 4th quarter at home and put up more points on them then their other 5 games combined. The next week, they're down by 3 going into the 4th quarter to another 100+ ranked team. The next week it's 21-21 going into the fourth quarter with another bottom 10 team at home.

SMU and Uconn are complete crap teams this year. USF is decent at best. SMU and Uconn would be at the bottom of CUSA just like they are in the AAC right now.

The last 2 AAC broadcasts on espin had midgets and mullets as announcers. With espin you get games on channels people know but when the announcers bad mouth the G5 and your program it's sort of sad. ASN seem to at least like the teams they are announcing.

Looking at the top 25 teams playing today. I don't really see either of us moving up. All of the teams ahead of us are playing games that they should win.

If a televized Marshall game falls down in a forest and no one hears it....did it really fall down?

20 USC v 19 Utah.

Marshall should move up with a win.

22 WVU could slip up, OK St are a good team, again Marshall would move up. Then again a strong WVU performance against a good team could put them top 20.

On the other hand, a good win from either USC or Utah would put them ahead of ECU.

Clemson could make Syracuse looks silly, they would propel them ahead of ECU.

ECU would gain points from people voting us behind USC, Utah, of WVU.

The point stands, there's scope for movement up or down for ECU and Marshall this week.
