I should say," I think we should finish somewhere in the middle, like 6th, 5th, or 4th place"

Right. So she's saying 5 finish above 6th and 5 finish below. Therefore 6 is the middle.

Haha! Well, if all these predictions start to play out, I guess somebody has to take a fall, and we seem to be in the best position to do that. I don't really like being the preseason favorite all that much.
