Nice article in the Palm Beach Post yesterday about Shawne Williams and his fight for a roster spot with the Miami Heat. The title was, "Castoff Making Most Of Chance" and was on front page of Sports Section. Article stated that Shawne dedicated himself to putting in the work to solidify a spot in the playing rotation. Shawne has spent the summer trimming his body fat from 14 percent to single digits. He has also sharpened his shot to the point that Coach Spoelestra gushed about how much fans will like him.

Article stated that Shawne has the possibility to work himself into the starting lineup both immediately and once the season starts next week. Article had a picture of Shawne guarding Lebron running down the court in a preseason game! Chris Bosh commented that Shawne has been outstanding--great to have the support of his teammates.

Good luck, Shawne! I will be traveling to Miami to see you play!

I rode on the same plane as Shawn Williams to Miami. Seems quite humble.

The article did not sugarcoat the past for Shawne, but it did emphasize that he has a solid chance to contribute to the Miami Heat. He played more minutes of the preseason games than any other player so they have tested him and are still excited about his play! I am also a Miami Heat fan so it would be double great if Shawne can contribute--he definitely will get a chance!

Shawne always produces good rebound numbers. His shooting is up and down. "Good shawne" is pretty good.

I read the article in a delivered copy of the Palm Beach Post and could not find online. There is a small article about Shawne on palmbeachpost.com, click on sports, then Heat section, and then article on who Spoelestra wants the fans to see--doesn't mention Shawne in title. I can take a photo of the article I read and send it to you via email if you send me your email address in private messages.

Shawne produces some of the best weed contacts in the NBA. I can see why the Heat would be excited.

I'd say he has a good shot.

"Williams not only pleased his coaches by shedding 25 pounds over the summer — “You don’t want to be fat down here with this good weather,” he joked — but he’s also usually right up there with Chris Bosh when it comes to rebounding. He is averaging five rebounds per game. And, most importantly, he is delivering exactly what the Heat signed him for — spacing."
