Wink GS fans now big ULM fans
At least when they play UL. Since there is no CCG (and we don't play UL) this year, we are going to have for UL to slip up against someone we do play. Then we can use the long and honored art of the transitive property to claim superiority over teams we don't play. So I'm thinking that ULM has the best shot to defeat UL (maybe) and it would make for a great final game against ULM in Statesboro. 04-cheers

Yea, we need somebody to upset them and help us out.

Question though about this Saturday... How in Erk's name did GaSt almost beat UL?

Was UL missing some people that they now have back?
Was GaSt playing some impact people that they no longer have?

We better strap it on in the Dome.

And I'm still holding out hope that App State puts one on UL to.

IF we lose this weekend we might as well expect to lose every game the rest of the season. I think GSU puts up a fight and we make mistakes to make it closer than it needed to be. Heck I'm already looking at next season too. So maybe the team is too.

Funny, Cajun fans will be big ULM fans when they play GS.

From what I've seen so far, there's a lot of parity in the league and a giant lack of consistency. I think the skill difference between certain teams are less than we thought and a lot of it depends who has a good game and who has a bad one. That's the reason we have teams like GASt that can win by one point over an FCS opponent but then almost beat Louisiana. Or how Georgia Southern can pretty decently beat a good team in South Alabama and almost beat two ACC teams but then have close games against Idaho and NMSU.

that's what I was wondering last night. How does ga state get blown out by home, but almost with at ULL, and then ark state get rocked at UL?

Cause y'all need the War Hawks to win to even out our conference records and force a 3 way tie for the title? 05-stirthepot

Maybe you'll lose to the Mountaineers to and wont even care at that point.. Rimshot

Pretty much sums it up. Will be a big Tx St fan first.

RE: GS fans now big ULM fans
Can't assume ULM is the only possible loss for UL and GS.

Texas State is good enough running and passing to cause problems for us. Georgia State can beat us if they get turnovers and figure out how to score in the red zone. And you know Troy is going to try and change things around to find something that works so who knows.

On the other hand, I think USA can beat UL if road Brandon Bridge (completion percentage 60%+) shows up instead of home Bridge (around 35% completion).

I also think people are overlooking App State. Not convinced they're destined to finish in the cellar especially after how they improved over last year. They could potentially be very dangerous using the run to set up the pass instead of vice versa.

RE: GS fans now big ULM fans
I'm not overlooking anyone (except GSU), but for GS it would make a great ending to the season. It is just a best case scenario (in my opinion). Great way to get the fans excited about the last game and a round about way to still claim we 'could' beat state and UL if we had played them. Don't want that '*' by the conference championship 03-wink

I know GSU can move the ball and GS could turn it over 8 times, TxSt is a solid program and will be a tough road game, Troy at home could be a trap game, and the last game against ULM will likely be our toughest of the season.

We look like 2 different teams, we made a lot of personnel, scheme and play calling changes since georgia state game. We have gotten some players healthy and finally have the right guys in the right spots

Interesting observation. Wish I knew the reason for the discrepancy. Nerves?

Home Bridge has faced Mississippi St and Georgia Southern.

Road Bridge has faced Kent St, Idaho and App.

3 part answer: in no particular order, they all evenly contributed

1) we were missing some players on Defense that we have back now.
2) our DB/LB zone coverage is the worst. which makes us easy picking against passing teams.
3)it was the worst officiated game ever( is that too strong?). that played a major role in the score.

transitive property should not be used with this game( not that it ever should be used in the Funbelt anyway)
