Wku should have known winning on the field and better record means nothing in the belt. They were on the other side the year before....

RE: OT : ULL vs Ark st
An intriguing aspect of sorts about this game is that ULL's offensive coordinator Jay Johnson as well as their OL coach Mitch Rodrigue are former USM coaches whose last year at USM was Bower's last year. For Arkansas St, their head coach Blake Anderson and OC Walt Bell were at USM as OC (Anderson) and TE/WR coach (Bell). To futher this story, Arkansas St HC Anderson was at ULL as OC in 2007, came to USM in 2008 with Fedora, and is in his first year at Arkansas St.

Thats the dumbest decision he has made since he showed up to interview for the job here wearing blue jeans.

And he won't do it again either.

He's been reading a lot of the material from the High School Coach over here that has abandoned punting claiming it costs you more games in the end. I think he got some ideas in his head.

Those ideas are great when its 4th and 1 or 2, and any play can get a first down. They are not great when its Fourth and 10 from your own 8.

We're used to rookie coaches making in game mistakes like that. It comes with the territory. As long as they keep winning, it doesn't bother me. (Since we were the only SBC team that didn't crap the bed on OOC play this year)

You have yet to deal with the Arkie fans. They the bestest that ever wuz.

If you had to deal with Razorback fans every day of the week, you'd act like us as well. Imagine losing by 15 points to your biggest conference rival, and then having to deal with fans of the local SEC team proclaiming all over the internet that this was punishment because we celebrated when they lost to Georgia.

You guys have it far, far easier than the rest of us. You have to develop thick skin and a cocky attitude if you want to cheer for a College Football team in Arkansas.

He's not a current player. Graduated a year ago...

He works as an Athletic Intern now...is responsible for inviting former players back for events. Pretty good at his job. Still terrible at Twitter usage...

NOBODY has it tougher than UAB fans with how they are treated by their BOT.

RE: OT : ULL vs Ark st
I'll tell you one thing, the deer in Arkansas are a lot happier when stAte football is good. Their attendance used to take a major hit once deer season started.

They have some really great fans, they just seem to be outnumbered by the types most in this thread are complaining about. I'd also be perfectly happy never going to Jonesboro ever again.

If we were adding two to the existing conference, my vote would be Ohio in the east and South Alabama in the west, or ULL and South Alabama both in the west, pushing UAB back to the east.

Having said that, we aren't expanding and if we are backfilling for departures my picks might change i.e. Ohio makes far less sense if Marshall is gone.

Marshall isn't going anywhere...Any P5 notion is at best a pipe dream and the AAC clearly doesn't want us, so there's no reason for us to go...Ohio is quite happy in the MAC from all information that I gather, but they certainly have the money to deal with the greatly increased travel expenses of CUSA. Why USA over Lafayette??? To me Lafayette is a no-brainer (if we're adding).

Everyone one of our programs are in the shadow and same boat as far as being looked down upon compared to SEC big brother...

I would find it hard to believe Arkansas is any different than Tenn, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, etc....Arkansas is only school you guys have, other states have 2 or 3 teams fans that treat you like crap if you are not a fan of the "state school."

For instance Kentucky which has basically done nothing in football ever, are acting like they won the national championship off of a 5 and 1 start...Kentucky fans have always looked down to WKU like we are a 2nd class citizen....Understand in basketball, but never understood the football phenomenon that is UK and how they could have so many arrogant cocky fans that chant SEC, SEC, when they really have nothing else to cheer for football wise....

UAB's situation is worse than ours, but otherwise, we've got it worse. Arkansas railroads legislation through the state every few years designed to limit our funding. They actually tried to get a law passed that Arkansas could only have one FBS team at one point.

At least those of you with 2 major programs cant be stuck in situations where 1 program has complete and utter control.

At least Kentucky is good in something on your point. They are great at basketball. Arkansas stinks at everything but baseball (and baseball actually complains that they cant play ASU) but that doesn't mean a thing.

We're not exactly dying to return to Murfreesboro either.

We're not moving though so its a moot point. There's just no benefit for us leaving the SBC unless things change significantly in the College landscape.

Maybe we'll get lucky and the AAC will call...otherwise we're an SBC Lifer. That's one thing our fans have at least accepted.

Mitch more than anyone was responsible for what eventually led to the dismissal of Bower.

Don't want to turn this into a pissing match, but from a travel standpoint Murfreesboro/Middle Tennessee compared to Jonesboro/Northeast Arkansas isn't remotely close.

RE: OT : ULL vs Ark st
Love the sweeping generalizations about fanbases and the chest pounding among similarly situated programs' fans. La. Tech had a great night and trounced ULL, then lost to an FCS team. ULL looked bad in 3 losses but bounced back last night against a rival. ASU beat USU but got manhandled in the trenches last night. WKU is 0-3 in conference play.

You can't hold Seminole Indian against us as we don't claim him and he doesn't claim us. Otherwise, it is ridiculous for anyone in CUSA or the SBC to talk smack about superiority over other programs and fanbases.
