Also his shot isn't where it needs to be.
Struggle as a 3, thrive as a face-up 4. I think he could be better than Shaq as a 4 if he really buys in...
Me too. He rebounded surprisingly well last season, especially on the offensive end.

Does anyone REALLY know what KI is?
Seriously, outside of some crappy Youtube videos, he only played 172 minutes all of last year. Nine minutes a game (2.5 ppg and 1.6 rpg) and no significant minutes in a game that wasn't already a blowout.
In that time, he shot 42% from the field, 11% from three and 38% from the free throw line.

What is the starting five looking like this year? Just from the eye test it looks like- Johnson, Woodson, King, Nichols, Goodwin. Is this pretty close or is the backcourt looking different?
the 2 is up in the air. i think it'll come down to Woodson or Burrell.
I would probably say Burrell but he's got a lot to learn between now and the start of the season. That would give us a 6'4". 6'6", 6'7", 6'9" and 6'8" starting lineup. I expect that Hawkins, Godfrey, Woodson, Iverson and Pookie will get some decent minutes as well. Not sure about Markel though.
I'm going to have to buy a program to keep up with all the newcomers.
Here's a cheat sheet:
0-Trahson Burrell
1-Markel Crawford
2-Shaq Goodwin
3-Pookie Powell
4-Austin Nichols
5-Nick King
10-Dominic Magee
11-Chris Hawkins
14-Jordan Manse
15-Kedren Johnson
20-Avery Woodson
23-Kuran Iverson
40-Calvin Godfrey
42-Jake McDowell
Thanks.
Who is as old as me and remembers when high school ball required you to wear one number at home and another number on the road, such as 10 at home and 11 on the road? Used to drive me crazy.
No one? OK.

It was enough time to see what he is NOT. He is not a guard, like some claimed before he got on campus.

RE: Basketball Starters
I know it is fun to speculate on the starting five. I prefer to pick who is on the court at the end of the game. With that being said, I hope our walk-on's get a lot of PT!

RE: Basketball Starters
I don't want to sound like TC, but I think we will have a great year. A lot of guys wanting to get playing time, and it will be high energy. With Wichita State, Baylor, Illinois/Indiana and Oklahoma State in the first 8 games our guys better have their game face on big time. I believe the Tigers will surprise some folks. With all the new faces we might just have a better "team" dynamic. We will see soon.

I think you're right on the Dozier model. According to Grant on Roar, KI HAS totally bought in, working hard to learn all of the schemes, hustling on defense & is particularly effective in the triple threat position at the elbow. He has stated that KI may be the best high post position passer on the team, maybe the best passer period. After all, he did lead the team in assists in Canada.

Best passer period hard to believe because with Shaq we are always a pass away from a good shot. We've heard a lot about Austin's ability to pass out of the post but he hasn't had a chance to show it as much.
