UTEP fans showing up early to tailgate.

Pretty sad when our geriatric fans put up more of a fight than your entire football team.

Damn. Post of the year.

04-cheers to the UTSA fan base for being good sports about a bad loss.

I agree. Any win now will be a bonus. Still trying to figure out how in the hell we smashed Houston and nearly beat Arizona.

coaching, team preparedness and QB.

Yea, we might as well not. Oh well, at least have the Spurs to look forward to.

If there isn't 40k at the sun bowl next Saturday, I'll be very surprised.

It can be used as a favorable recruiting tool.

If I'm a coach, I tell talented kids "Our veteran team members are graduating, and those remaining on the team can be challenged for the starting spot. In short, you have the opportunity to prove you can start from year I".

I see a number of Miner fans on various boards predicting some big numbers for attendance next week. It will be a success if we can simply match our season average. 35K would be awesome.

My grandfather and other relatives are in the process of moving back from Los Angeles. One of the reasons they are rushing to get back- To watch the Miners a couple of times.

Friends and relatives are talking about huge tailgates for the upcoming games.

I also think we will hit 40k+

RE: UTEP-UTSA game thread
I wish I was that optimistic, but I would be happy with at least 35,000. I still think UTEP has lost so many fans with all these losing seasons that I still think it will take several more wins. Hopefully soon we will see those 52,000 fan sellouts that we had about 8 or 9 years ago. Those were good times

What does giving up 70 yards get you? The Miners moved from 95th nationally in yards per game to 60th.

I would love to see 40K there on Saturday. I also promised not to feed the troll. I think Fitbum is simply planting the seeds to have something to mock and/or complain about next Saturday. For the first time in probably a century, the UTEP football team literally left nothing for us to complain about so the trolls have to project to next week.

Some folks estimated 6-7K Miner fans showed up for the UTSA game.

I figured it would have been closer to 3K.

It's extraordinarily hard to say. UTEP (visitor) section was less than half full, and yet you could hear Miner fans in all different parts of the stadium.

It wasn't 6-7K, but I don't think 3-4K is out of shot. Y'all represented very well. Loudest fans in the 'Dome I can remember... of course, we gave plenty to cheer for.
