With Staver out, my main concern for Liberty's admittance has virtually vanished.
P.S. You need some postseason action to make you attractive.

Glad to see you were as vocally supportive of the move as you were against his employment

It is a good move, but it remains to be seen if Liberty Counsel really is going to be moved off campus and the ties to them downgraded.

With Staver out, the answer is yes. Staver and Liberty Counsel will move back to Florida, and a national search for a law school dean has begun. My hope is that we hire a LAW SCHOOL DEAN who wants to RUN AN EXCELLENT SCHOOL OF LAW, and not someone with an LGBTA agenda and ax to grind. Tom, know that MANY in the school of law, students AND PROFESSORS alike, were thrilled at this move, and I would go as far as to say an overwhelming majority. With Staver busy fighting Obamacare and homosexuality in Uganda, the School of Law suffered greatly. I cannot wait to see where we go with a dedicated dean who puts his/her focus and energy solely on our School of Law with no other causes or personal crusades.

Again, good move by Liberty. Best of luck to you. Hopefully you will be correct.

FWIW, Provost Dr. Ron Godwin is out too. As the Falwell Sr. holdovers start to move on, look for LU to really make some moves as Jr. appoints his own people. As Jr. has a law degree from UVA and is not a pastor, look for him to raise Liberty's academic profile and bring us into the future.

And for the record, you all can remove the "never been to the playoffs" excuse from the list of reasons to keep us out after we beat #1 FCS team in nation today. And I guess our win over App State is a bit more impressive than you all assumed back when we knocked them off in the Rock.

It is strange that Liberty accomplished the two things that most people said were keeping them from SBC membership within a two week span.
My objections to Liberty are down significantly with those two big hurdles accomplished. Still some concern about the whole Private School in a public school league thing.
Good luck to the Flames in the Playoffs.

What has always amazed me is a church affiliated college is nicknamed Flames. Seems to me your whole mission is to stay away from fire.

It comes from the school motto which is also on the school seal. “Knowledge Aflame,” summarizes the idea that knowledge is vain unless illuminated by the light of biblical truth.

Uh, guys. The Flames just beat JMU in the 1st Round of the FCS Playoffs. We'd beat Missouri State as well but they are too busy firing coaches.

That was an awesome game. I bet the JMU boards are in full meltdown. Their score predictions were JMU blowing out LU.

Curtis, be nice. The JMU board is mostly being complimentary and respectful and gracious.

Given the smack talk from JMU before the game I was expecting a epic meltdown on their boards. Surprisingly you are correct, most users seem complimentary and respectful of the LU's win. JMU sure did talk big before the game but they are a class act even in a loss. I am really looking forward to JMU coming to Lynchburg next season.
