Back from UNT game
Had a great time in Denton Saturday, nothing but jealously for the new stadium and the beer sales! What we saw of the campus was very clean and impressive. I must admit I was surprised at the lack of eye contact 99% of the fans made with us as we tailgated at Fouts Field across the street from the basketball arena. For the most part they walked past looking straight ahead, only a few of the band members stopped and said anything.

Next time come across the bridge and walk through the hill and the lots down there. That is where most of the hardcore Mean Green Fans tailgate and we seem to be more hospitable. I promise we are pretty nice lol.

I wish we'd had more time to get over the bridge before the game. The parking folks and campus cops (I forgot about them welcoming us - the cops stopped and chatted with us several times, maybe to make sure our adult beverages were covered and check out what we were cooking? Haha!) mentioned the major tailgating was on "the hill" across I-35. It was damned convenient having an inexpensive lot as close as we were, port-a-lets close and a 7 minute walk to the stadium. We'll be back again, definitely in our away game rotation.

great to hear...our parking situation is nice. you could have even parked 'inside' campus in the residence lots for free. we are lucky to actually have grass now at the new stadium for tailgating...imagine the parking lot being the main tailgating area when fouts field was in use...it got a bit hot on the asphalt...
