I think we are mainly getting a lot of pub because of us being in our first year as an FBS team. Tie that in with a couple close road losses to ACC (albeit not very good) teams, it seems to be more of a "wow" factor mixed in with results.

But I'm totally cool with it. haha

I agree. A-State should be up there with UCF.

I think top 5 is fair when you consider the margin of victory we've had in our wins (outside the NMSU road game where we spotted them 2 TDs). In our last three P5 games the Points for/Points against is nearly even (86/87). We have the best running game in the country, a good QB (some would argue 2), a great game-changing RB, solid group of WRs, a veteran OL. Our D-line is thin but it's played awesome this year, solid LBs, and a secondary that gives up yards but also forces turnovers. I think we're better than you give us credit for. I don't believe for a second that there are 12 G5s playing better than we are now. Our conference schedule is soft as charmin but we don't really control that.

I really don't want to prove my point as it is just my opinion. I've been voting on the Top 25 G-5 poll on the C-USA board and I analyze each team every week. These are the 12 teams I think can beat us more often than not at this time:
1) East Carolina
2) Marshall
3) Colorado State
4) Boise State
5) Central Florida
6) Northern Illinois
7) Arkansas State
8) Utah State
9) Cincinnati
10) Nevada
11) Bowling Green
12) **God help me** Louisiana

Bowling Green may be more equal to us than superior so it is okay to say there are 11 teams that should be ranked above us. Even though Louisiana has had a mediocre first half of the season, I think at this time they have a slight edge over us. However, I believe in three years will have a more formidable team than we do now. Then all bets are off.

If Ellison, Breida, and Ramsby are healthy beating GS at home would be extremely difficult for any one of these listed. Away may be more of a challenge but I would say 50/50 for the top five maybe 7.

My opinion was based upon meeting on a neutral field. Playing at Paulson Stadium is a significant advantage for us regardless who we play.

SB Nation has us at #6. I'm not the only who believes we're good.

Ga. Southern is good. Ga. Southern could compete in any G5 conference and be successful. That is why I am happy they are in the Sun Belt. In looking at what remains, it would be great for the conference if Ga Southern and USA could both knock off Navy.

I'm pretty happy with the GS and App adds. I knew they would be smart additoins but expected themt o both go the route of App St starting off. Pleasently surprised by the Eagles this year.

I knew we would be ok, but I think a lot of things just fell together perfectly for us. A sophomore QB who got great playing time last year bc of McKinnon being hurt, a senior offensive line, and an offensive scheme change that I kept screaming was not going to be that different than what we ran before. I'll take it. lol
