yes it is, Middle Tennessee has played 8 games already, and gets just its first bye week this week.

Yep, and very much needed. Feeling fortunate to have gotten to the eighth game at 5-3.

Two of our three losses have come against teams currently in the top 25 with those three having a combined record of 17-4.

So, I'm feeling pretty good about where we are and our ability to close out strong...

But...

This has been a strange season. Seems like we could finish anywhere from 6-6 to 9-3.

RE: Wk. 9: Lines in the Sand
North Texas @ Rice: North Texas and WKU should have played to see who is the worst team in CUSA

UAB @ Arkansas: Arkansas by a lot

FAU @ Marshall: Marshall fans, it will be comforting to know your defense will face the FAU team WKU saw in 1st half not 2nd half

LaTech @ Southern Miss Closer than most expect

Old Dominion @ Western Kentucky: We are at home which is a automatic loss and the players have quit on the defensive coaches..How the hell are we favored vs. anyone? Vegas does not have a clue, guarantee even if WKU wins, no way in hell we beat a team at home by more than 12 points...Cannot remember the last time we covered in a conf. game at home is...Easy money for anyone who bets is this game..

UTEP @ UTSA: Toss up but will go with the home team

James Madison @ Charlotte: President wins

I don't know. If the Monarchs get off to another slow start, it will not be very pretty from an ODU point of view. I have not made my picks yet, but if I pick ODU it will be an upset special for the homer.

It wouldn't be an upset, cannot remember last time we actually covered a home conf. game...Our defense is in shambles and judging by 2nd half at FAU, looks like they have quit on the coaches...

North Texas @ Rice
UAB @ Arkansas
FAU @ Marshall
LA Tech @ Southern Miss (going with the favorite but USM is improving. Could be very interesting)
Old Dominion @ Western Kentucky (toss-up goes to the home team)
UTEP @ UTSA (strictly a homer pick)

RE: Wk. 9: Lines in the Sand
North Texas @ Rice - UNT might be the worst team in the conference
UAB @ Arkansas - Tough place to play
FAU @ Marshall - Game of the Week! Marshall is just too good
LaTech @ Southern Miss - La Tech by 20
Old Dominion @ Western Kentucky - WKU has had some tough breaks but they finally get on track at home
UTEP @ UTSA - UTSA defense - very good, offense - awful. Still I just don't see UTSA losing to UTEP at home especially with Showers at QB

James Madison @ Charlotte - No reason

I disagree...I think La. Tech @ Southern Miss is very much a toss up game. I could see this one going either way.

RE: Wk. 9: Lines in the Sand
North Texas @ Rice (-13); 12:00 pm, ET; Fox Sports Network This could be an interesting game. I expect UNT to make a game but Rice is binding! Owls 30-20
UAB @ Arkansas (-21); 12:00 pm, ET; SEC Network; Watch ESPN UAB is capable of pulling the upset but after the Piggies lost I expect them to use the biggest offensive line in college football to pound it early and often. Hogs run away late 48-30
FAU @ Marshall (-26.5); 3:30 pm, ET; Fox Sports 1 Marshall is at home so the Herd wins big. 45-17
LaTech (-12) @ Southern Miss; 3:30 pm, ET; American Sports Network USM is trying to get Mo on their side. I think they cover the spread but lose the game. LT 31-28
Old Dominion @ Western Kentucky (-12.5); 3:30 pm, ET; C-USA Digital Network I predict over 100 points scored. WKU 55 ODU 48
UTEP @ UTSA (-10); 7:00 pm, ET; American Sports Network Meep meep is at home so that number is right UTSA 34-24

Future Conference Member
James Madison @ Charlotte; 12:00 pm, ET; WCCB Charlotte The Dukes will prove to be too much for the 49ers. 45-17

I predict that if USM wins Eager Eagle will start a thread claiming Tech only brought 18 people to the game and half of those didn't wear shoes.

North Texas @ Rice (-13); 12:00 pm, ET; Fox Sports Network - Rice runs away with this one

UAB @ Arkansas (-21); 12:00 pm, ET; SEC Network; Watch ESPN - UAB in an upset!! (Yeah, I know. But the Hogs are sooo bad this year.)

FAU @ Marshall (-26.5); 3:30 pm, ET; Fox Sports 1 - As Jan Brady said, "Marshall, Marshall, Marshall. That's all anyone talks about!!"

LaTech (-12) @ Southern Miss; 3:30 pm, ET; American Sports Network - This one may NOT be as close as you think.

Old Dominion @ Western Kentucky (-12.5); 3:30 pm, ET; C-USA Digital Network - ODU is finding out --the hard way-- what its like to play at this level.

UTEP @ UTSA (-10); 7:00 pm, ET; American Sports Network - UTSA was certainly a lot tougher against us than UTEP was. I'm picking UTSA.

Future Conference Member
James Madison @ Charlotte; 12:00 pm, ET; WCCB Charlotte wins pillow fight of the week.
