Keep in mind...
We are seeing all of this improvement without seeing ANY of the following players make an impact:

(QB) Chance Stewart
(OL) Curtis Doyle
(OL) Elliot Jordan
(OL) Zach Novoselsky
(RB) Jamauri Bogan
(RB) Leo Ekwoge
(WR) Javonte Seabury
(WR) Jordan Billingslea
(TE) Chris McDaniel
(DT) Kenny Finley
(LB) Jason Silva

This doesn't include guys like Austin Lewis (inj.), Asantay Brown, Deontae Brown, and Lucas Bezerra, who've seen very little time here and there.

Justin Ferguson ??

Assuming guys like (LB) McMullen, (OL) Keenoy, (RB) Tucker, (S) Davison, (S) Spencer, and (ATH) Tranquill actually sign in February...

Just wow... I don't know about you guys, but the future is VERY bright.

RE: Keep in mind...
Yep, considering how many freshmen and underclassmen in general we have playing....it's crazy to think what we might see in the next few years.

I mean, look at our offense:
Zach Terrell - Soph
Corey Davis - Soph
Daniel Bravermen - Soph
Jarvion Franklin - Fresh
Darius Phillips - Fresh
Henry, Ernsberger, Moulton, and many others are all underclassmen.

Not a senior among the group, except for on the line and at TE (who is not even being utilized btw)

If they end up meaning a MAC Championship for this team in the next few years, PJ should get a statue outside of Waldo.

I think they were low looking back. To get those caliber of players to come here after going 1-11 is quite the feat.

Maybe, but wouldn't you prefer to believe the players are getting developed, prepared during the week, and coached on game day?

RE: Keep in mind...
The recruiting ranking sort of represent a consensus opinion on the recruits talent. I think its an achievement to pull in players that have multiple choices and a chance to go to more established programs. Its also vital to develop the players while they're here. You don't want to be Tim Brewster and just get players who you don't know how to use and can't develop. But you don't want to be EMU and try and cobble together a recruiting class of guys you have to discover.

Recruiting rankings aren't the end all be all but they aren't arbitrary either. PJ Fleck can recruit ,we shouldn't have any argument about that point. I've given him the benefit of the doubt on the nekton, boat rowing, dj, etc... because I think that its pointed at recruiting which is the one thing he's been exceptional at from day 1. Getting better players than most of the teams we play against is going to make him look like a better coach.

Yep, just stirring the pot a little. Rankings are absolutely pointless if nobody's doing any coaching. We certainly appear to be doing both - bringing in truly talented players and coaching them up.

The future is very bright, that's for sure.

If we somehow win the MAC this year -- I would say put up a statue the next day. Of course, chances of that are basically nill, given our team and the wild-wacky MAC. Toledo would need to lose 2 games (BGSU & @NIU), while we'd have to beat @CMU & NIU -- along with Ohio who's no slouch either, and @Miami which isn't a gimme-game as they're improving the more time rolls on.

I agree.

While I think Cubit was masterful at developing QBs, at times I thought they were trying to do too much. On the other hand the personnel on this team is conducive to the kind of offense he's running. If Chance is our primary RB a lot of what we're doing would be easier to defend. So yeah, recruiting talent is crucial.

I seriously doubt we win the MAC, but PJ has to be in the running for COY.

If it was voted on today, it should be a landslide for PJ. imo

Justin Ferguson?

Got to ND and they found out he had no hands? Got here and Fleck confirmed it?

Is a good athlete with decent wheels but lacks the hips to play corner or the strength or experience to play safety?

Maybe he's learning the safety position, or adding weight/strength, and will be in the rotation next year.

Wonder if Okafor can catch? He's lean, looks fast for a linemen. Tackle eligible? If Joe Staley and JJ Watt can go from 220 pound TEs to 300 pound OL/DTs, could we do the reverse and line Chuks up at the goal line as an eligible receiver?

Thanks for posting and updating this list, guys - I was curious about which (and how many) of our freshmen were still on pace to be redshirted...

Hopefully Thomas has whatever is going with himself worked out. Quit on RU twice and tried to return a third time before Flood said "no". He has the potential to be a really good one for your team.

I hope the same thing... did my research on him after he transferred and all I could see were red flags. I think PJ is good at pitching the "second chance" to some of these kids... but he's also pretty good at weeding them out early if its obvious they don't want to put in the effort. If they can't row, they got's to go. ... if this kid sways a little I suspect he won't be on the team for long...

He definitely seems to be talented enough to have an impact, but if he doesn't put the work in, he won't be on the team. We gave Jay Harris, an original MSU commit a second chance, and he didn't work out, so he is not a Bronco anymore.

Didn't think I'd see this ever after last season. . .. ..
