Not really. They've got a couple teams like Marshall and UTSA which are really over inflating attendance numbers. For a day in which we had three teams playing that are either struggling (Idaho, Troy) or have yet to draw well for a league game (USA) Its not awful.
La Tech had fans disguised as empty bleachers for their game.

UTSA not traveling well? To me this shows that SA folks go to their (UTSA) games just to go to a game. They're not really fans. If they didn't go to LaTech, what away games are they making other than UNT?

Same could be said for state and UL...and yeah, sucks to have an 11am kickoff for tech...

Not near to the level of Marshall and UTSA though. Marshall is a historic program that has a 40K seat stadium. They are always going to outdraw the SBC. I'm not sure UTSA has a big fan base, but they take advantage of a San Antonio market with nothing better to do well. Neither of us have that.
In the SBC's case. App, AState, GS, and the Cajuns are always going to be the high water marks of attendance for the league. Troy and Texas State will be up and down dependent on their record. USA and ULM have potential to draw well, but really need the big game to do so.
NMSU, Idaho, and GSU are never going to draw well. Sort of like the Florida Twins in CUSA.

I think NMSU could draw well. They draw more total fans for basketball season than they do football, but they historically haven't performed well in the last half decade. Put a winning product on the field, like they do for basketball and I think they could do better. Of course, that in and of itself not an easy task.

Idaho Had a good crowd considering the thirteen game losing streak.

Idaho seats 16K, 15K is an outstanding attendance for them
I don't know what on earth is going on in Mobile, but that was awful.

Believe NMSU would draw well with a moderate winning team.
Idaho doesn't even have a chance to draw well with their stadium capacity. Georgia State even doing well in football would still not draw what we consider well probably. Would hope they would, but doubt it.

they have not been around long enough to have many alumni and fans scattered around the country..they are the only game in town so they have good support from locals for home games. same thing can be said about most sbc teams.

You forgot UTEP. They draw well.
UAB has actually done well with attendance this year and they report actual butts in seats instead of tickets sold. Their attendance still looks pathetic though because of their terrible stadium. Amazing what just a little amount of success can do.
The rest, yeah, we don't do so well as a conference.

UTEP gets big crowds too.
I saw an article that showed student attendance at games. TXST gets more students than UTSA but averages 7000-9000 less per game. It makes the case they get SA folks to show up.
