I want to hurl
I'm no ND fan, but I'm a lot less a Jamis Winston fan.
That pick call at the end was weak. You swallow your whistle on that one. Jumbo Fisher is footballs John Calipary.

RE: I want to hurl
While I agree with you on JW - every time I see/hear him talk I wanna puke, he sounds so arrogant & insincere & slimey & tells you what you want to hear, not how he feels - but that was a good call. And it doesn't matter if it is the first play of the game or last play of a game - a penalty is a penalty.

He lives in a bubble. Classy program on and off the field? Disgusting.

I'm guessing Kelly thought he was gonna get away with one on that last play. Glad it got caught.

Must be nice to be in the ACC. They sort of coast into the playoff now. I think he knows that he's not making any new fans anytime soon. He's just firing up that crowd that wants to believe the rest of us just hate them because they're good.

It wouldn't be as big of a deal if ND hadn't been running that pick play ALL GAME and then it only gets called at the end like that.

I have to disagree. That call HAD to be made. Had the WRs not wrapped up the DBs then they would have let it go, but when both run directly to the DB and literally wrap them up, you have to call it. If they would have even just run into them and continued to make a move like they were trying to get open it would have been fine, but that was blatant.

Stupid even, do a little acting. To be fair, FSU's defense was scary fast. Might have felt like they had to get radical.

RE: I want to hurl
They're so close to the Endzone with a mobile QB who's to say he was't run blocking?
I don't think they make that call in South Bend.

I agree the call wasn't really BS. However, from how it played out, I don't see how it blocked them from covering the receiver. IMO, they very well could have been closer -- making it not SO much easy as it was, but IMO, he would have still been Open because those defensemen weren't aiming for that receiver at all it seems.
If they didn't call it, I wouldn't have any sympathy for FS fans. It wasn't a holding call, it was a PI -- where those defensemen were not in the direction (albeit a small area) of the WIDE open receiver. IMO, if the other receivers laid off more, the guy still would have been Very open anyway. ND just pushed the envelope too much on the execution, so I can't have any sympathy for ND fans about the call either.

RE: I want to hurl
You have to put your hands up and act a little if you are those wrs. It is a very standard route combo especially by the goal line. ND ran picks all game but that one was so blatant and in the reduced field of the red zone. Don't care for either team but having been around ND fans it didn't hurt my feelings.

Just watched it again and it was a blown coverage for sure. Would have been a touchdown not problem but both wrs grabbed the dbs. Just too blatant.

Yeah neither DB looked like they were tracking the receiver, so the WR's didn't even need to put their hands on them.
