Anybody paying attention to Purdue these days?
They've been playing better every game.

MAYBE Hazell's starting to get through to them. Still too early to tell.

But they hung in there against Notre Dame, won at Illinois, challenged MSU, and are again hanging tough against a good Minnesota team on the road.

There's no such thing as a "good loss", but it may not be as bad as we originally thought. I thought they'd be slightly better this year... it does seem like they're finally starting to put it together a little bit and show some signs. The CMU game is certainly still perplexing to me.

Anyways, if they pull this one out against Minnesota, they're sitting at 4-4 (2-2) with more winnable games further down the schedule (vs. NW, @Indiana) where they could possibly reach bowl eligibility. They've also got Wisconsin at home, who hasn't exactly been playing lights out lately.

Could be interesting to see where they land by the end of the year.

Some football insider told me that Purdue was maybe the 2nd worst team he'd ever seen last month in an effort to dismiss our effort against them. I just took his word for it but they BEAT ILLINOIS? Thats impossible.

I heard Hazell tells recruits they should go to Purdue and not other schools though.

Purdue leads Minnesota 31-20 at the half. Jerry Kill is 0-22 all-time at Minnesota when trailing at the half. #halftimeadjustments

Good call, looks like Purdue is going to pull this off. Solid win for Hazell and the Purdue program.

Certainly the change at QB has helped. Defense is still awful though, this one isn't over yet.

Purdue choking.

Looks like Kill is going to get his first win when trailing at half.

Gophers lead 39-38 in the 4th with 2:05 left, with the ball.

Many - myself included - thought it would be a rough year for our defense after Purdue dropped 43 on us in the opener. If nothing else, Purdue putting 31 up on MSU and 38 on the Gophers the past two weeks doesn't make that effort look as bad in hindsight.
