Let's not forget, you also made this claim and were quickly refuted because you had no clue what you were talking about:

Quote:lets not get out of hand. Iowa has 3.2 million people, a world renown university medical school in Iowa city (university of Iowa) four top notch universities in isu and Iowa, drake and Grinnell, not to mention AAU schools in Iowa and isu that do more research than UCF, Louisville, temple, Houston, Tulsa and Cincinnati combined.

UC is 46th in the country, Iowa is 42nd. Iowa State was what, 79th? You obviously have an anti-UC bias. That is fine, but don't act like you have some sort of knowledge that others don't.

i ll explain "my inside knowledge others dont have" in a second. First off I can't stand Iowa st but you are using very limited data.ISU has been in the AAU along time. Cincinnati is not a member. BTW, I have nothing against cinci at all and never have so please stop with the stupid "anti Cincinnati" and "You re spreading misinformation about Cincinnati" comments. You sound foolish. I lived at university of Iowa's hospital for 2 years while my sister battled for her life from a disease no one could treat because they didn't know what it was. She's alive today. I will always be grateful for the brilliance I saw while there. Do you think that Cincinnati compares with Iowa research wise? According to your stats cinci is 46 and Iowa is 42.

Very simple: Is this accurate?

Quote:lets not get out of hand. Iowa has 3.2 million people, a world renown university medical school in Iowa city (university of Iowa) four top notch universities in isu and Iowa, drake and Grinnell, not to mention AAU schools in Iowa and isu that do more research than UCF, Louisville, temple, Houston, Tulsa and Cincinnati combined.

No. It was shown to be wholly inaccurate and basically an attack on those schools because you have zero idea of what you are talking about. ZERO.

You attacked UC in this thread and showed just how out of touch with reality you are. I'm glad your sister is doing well. UC has a 1st class hospital as well, and is also affiliated with the 2nd best Children's Hospital in the country (best burn unit). It is on UC's medical campus.

As far as research goes, UC and Iowa are in the same ballpark. Both do great research, both are great universities. The only reason UC is not in the AAU is due to politics, but those barriers seems to be breaking down. In time I suspect UC will be in the club, and would already be if they were in the Big 10.

I forget what message board I saw this, so I apologize for not giving credit to the original poster. But this release from Nebraska right before they left the AAU shows that Cincinnati was actually ahead of 13 current AAU members, and was 5th among non-AAU FBS schools using their own criteria: http://newsroom.unl.edu/releases/downloa...UNLAAU.pdf

Cincinnati is an excellent research university with a lot of money. Anyone who denies this is a blatant liar.

MLB, I know cinci is an excellent research university. I shouldn't have included them in my list. Sorry. However, you do realize colorado st, New Mexico and USF have also had several years where they too were (and are) ahead of several current AAU members. As confident as you are that Cinci will get into the AAU, the AAU moves at a snails pace at admitting new members. Iowa will never get kicked out that's certain. It's uncertain if Cincinnati will ever get in. (Politics is a factor, I agree) my guess is that Colorado st will be the next the invite to AAU. My guess it will be 10 to 20 years from now. New Mexico or UCONN would be the next 2 in line in my opinion. I won't argue with you anymore. I'm just an army grunt with a BA from ECU but my great uncle who's a PHD at UNC and his son a PHD at Ohio st explained to me how these things work and those conversations and my observations while living in Iowa city (for my sisters terminal condition) is what I'm going on....your quote "you have zero knowledge of what your talking about. Zero."--little harsh after what I told you about my sister don't you think? you probably study the internet data on this subject, and I respect your knowledge and your school. Beautiful campus and Nippert is one of my fav stadiums!
