I think we would beat stAte, but I'm not going to tell someone they are way off base if they claim stAte deserves to be ranked higher. Too close to call it either way.

stAte has lost to #22 Tennessee and #47 Miami, Fl.

stAte has defeated #55 Utah St, #118 Motana St, #140 University of Louisiana at Monroe and #196 Georgia St.

Ga Southern has lost to #51 Georgia Tech and #79 NC State.

Ga Southern has defeated #103 S. Alabama, #168 Appalachian St, #192 New Mexico St. and #250 Savannah St.

There's quite a bit of difference in the ranking of opponents lost to and opponents defeated.

If you use ESPN FPI the Utah St and USA wins are pretty close. Plus Ga Southern does not have the bad losses like Ark St. Sagarin does not factor in margin of victory because it was part of the BCS poll and they didn't want to incentivize teams to run up the score. That is why Ga Southern is ranked ahead of Ark St in the ESPN FPI.

Do you yell that at the TV when ESPN commentators are debating who should be included as part of the 4 team playoff?

Didn't realize Southern was in contention for that.

The only rankings that matter are the top 25. Outside of that it is about winning the conference and winning your bowl game. Nobody will look back at this season and go "man, I can't believe ark state was ranked 10 points higher than southern.

Anything from 40 and up has an error rate of about 15 spots in my opinion. Teams ranked between 60 and 75 are all going to be fairly equal on the field with little discrepancy.

So stop trying to make a case that ark state shouldn't be ranked 10 spots ahead of us because they have better wins than us..... and it doesn't mean anything anyway.

Maybe you can have a new thread about what you like and don't like so everybody can be sure to accommodate you.

Utah State lost.

On the road to a good team, who was favored in the game.

Taking into consideration yesterdays game Sagarin ratings this morning have A-State as the top SBC team at#57 and GaSo 2nd at #77.

After them the highest rated SBC team is UL at #102.

Not saying A-State will win out at all because they are very young and have had a lot of injuries, but it is obvious to anyone who has watched them and the other SBC teams, including GaSo, they they are far and away the most talented team in the SBC. Not even close.

If they do not beat themselves with penalties and turnovers, which young teams do from time to time, they should not lose to any SBC team this year, and the talent gap between them and the rest of the SBC will grow even bigger next year.

Lol. Arky State is not more talented than Georgia Southern.

Lol. Yes sir. Hands down Arkansas State is more talented than Georgia Southern. Are you trolling or just such a homer that you're blinded by your weak opponents and wins you've deemed "quality"?
Either way, just watch us on ESPN2 and see the speed that would light you up. You can also see what it's going to be like when you're finally on a prime time channel at a prime time.

YEA! on a Tuesday. 04-bow

Maybe on paper state has more talent, but we don't play on paper. I will say that I do think that state is the best SBC this year overall. GS is a close second and the only reason we aren't undefeated is due to shooting ourselves in the foot.

I try not to bite, but sometimes...

Georgia Southern football has several problems, but team speed is not one of them.

You guys were a bit of a " no-show" in your last Tuesday night game on ESPN2.
