RE: Bravo-Harriot preseason freshman POY
I imagine that picking Freshman of the Year is a bit more difficult than the other picks because there is no prior MAC season information to draw from. The rest of their picks seem to be pretty much on the money so hopefully their FOtY pick is also accurate.

We really, really need some of the 1st and 2nd year players to step up big time this year----not only for this year itself but for the future of the program over the next several years as well. With the loss of Dola last year and with this being Inma's last year, the near term future of the program depends on new "star players" emerging this year if the program is to return to the very top tier of the conference next year or the year after.

All top tier teams have their share of All Conference players and the 1st & 2nd year players who emerge this year are the ones who can be All Conference down the road. While players do develop with time and experience, most who achieve all conference usually made an impact even as underclassmen.

Just like our 4* highest rated recruit in MAC history of two years ago. That I can't recall her name is telling. From Chicago, sister was major recruit nationwide.... anyway, she was picked as preseason FOY. Hope this one is more accurate.

That would be Kendyl Nunn, who, after a one year stint at Casper Community College, may have found a home at the University of Illinois-Chicago where she is a redshirt sophomore.

I don't know at this point if Bravo-Harriott has the talent and/or skills to become the FOY, or to even make the all-freshmen team for that matter, but one think I've observed is that no one is going to push her around. She is built like a mini fullback and plays some pretty good on-ball perimeter defense.

God save the Queen.

The on-ball perimeter defense is taking a hit with the graduation of Andola so the Rockets certainly need someone to fill that void. Lets hope that Bravo-Harriott can be the one.
