Was it Central Connecticut stripped of 4 scholarships, for video taping Jim Boehiem paying recruits?

Was it when Arkansas was caught buying Mercede's for their QB, and Missouri State at Pine Bluff was put on a three year probation.

Was it when Texas was caught sending recruits to a whore house, and Texas at Corpus Christie was denied 12 scholarships for the infraction.

Was it when Reggie Bush was caught cashing checks from Pete Carroll, and Long Beach State was given the death penalty?

Penn State, OSU

Penn State wasn't cheating. OSU is the last to be sanctioned for real, that was four plus years ago. You're telling me things have cleaned up since?

For sure, this BCS P5 thing has weeded out all the trouble makers.

If Rawls winds up playing each week from here on out, I'm inclined to agree. The team's a one man show, and it's him.

That's not really fair.
- Our defense leads the MAC with 9 INT, tied for 5th in the country.
- Titus Davis is going to be a 3rd round pick in the NFL draft. The top MAC WR.
- QB Cooper Rush has a solid 10 TD to 4 INT ratio.

Don't get me wrong, you saw us vs Kansas and Syracuse, we we terrible without Rawls and Davis. And against Toledo they weren't 100% and we lost. We need those 2 guys to perform well. But I don't think it's fair to say we are a one man show.

Yes, WMU will likely be our toughest game. I'm expecting us to lose 1 our of our last 5. That could very well be to WMU, I don't know.

I think Toledo's tough Run D resulted in them winning, really. Toledo has a BAD Pass D -- but Davis not being 100%, and doing fine stopping the run -- that prevented a bail-out for you guys.

It's not a 1-man show -- unless your opponent has a BAD Run D. It's a 2-man show -- especially if a team has a Good Run D.

CMU has a good chance of winning it out -- but that will require consistency. BSU is no slouch, btw. They don't get blown out by nobody. They are figuring themselves out, hence, finding ways to lose when having a lead most of the game (Iowa, and WMU), and not able to come back (Army, Indiana State). Their new QB will put 2-3 more Ws in their column, if not more.

I think CMU will "be fine" at home vs us. We SUCK in Mt Pleasant. However, we are a PJ Fleck team -- so anything can break tradition -- positively or negatively! :) Just look out for your locker room 03-wink

Teams blitzed Rush when Rawls wasn't in because they they didn't feel Savalli was a running threat. That in turn hurt your passing game. Rawls opens up the pass. Linebackers, have to stay up to respect the run. So yes, Rawls is very much a one man wrecking crew for you, he totally changes the defense.

You know my opinion on this. I don't think he has any business being on the field until his sentencing. I get the 2 game suspension. He lied to his coach when he withheld the fact he had been arrested and was awaiting trial. Yep, that's worthy of 2 games. I'm not seeing any consequence for his committing of a felony. Are you? And please don't do the "It wasn't a felony dance," it was.

Well, it goes on your record as a Felony, but you can't serve the full 2 years even if sentenced because it's a misdemeanor. It's a tranny charge. :)

I agree. Toledo is clearly in the driver's seat, and unless NIU knocks them off, they're two up on us and the Chips. I think Toledo beats NIU and goes on to win the West, and the MACC. Toledo may not run the table in the MAC, but I don't see them losing twice.

CMU will probably win 8-9 games, maybe even 10 if they win their bowl game. Here would be my bigger question to Chip fans, though: you've obviously gone all-out, literally, the win the MAC this year. If you don't, where do you go from here?

Rawls and Titus Davis will be gone after this season. They have obviously struggled without either/or/both so far this season.

Look around this division, and you see...

- A Toledo so loaded they're winning with backups at key positions and isn't going anywhere anytime soon
- A young NIU that can only be expected to improve over the next couple of years
- A WMU that, if nothing else, has shown it is on the rise, with another strong recruiting class coming in
- A Ball State that may be struggling now, but has a proven coach and may have found its QB of the future
- An EMU that, though it is only one win, is showing potential signs of life with Creighton

In my opinion, CMU's decision to reinstate Rawls was penny-wise and pound-foolish. It may help them in the short-term, but I don't think it will bring them the MAC title they clearly desire. In the long-term, it almost certainly hurts their image. Without at least winning the West even once in five seasons, the Chips would be stuck between a rock and a hard place with a decent, but not great, coach.

He could too serve the two years. He won't, but it is possible. It's a two year felony. .....but I digress.

Man, how crazy would the MAC West look like right now if we would've beaten Toledo...

WMU, 2-0
Toledo, 2-1
CMU, 2-1
EMU, 1-1
NIU, 1-1

What could have been...

Somebody needs to teach you how to read standings.

The first number after the team is the number of WINS. The second number is the number of LOSSES.

If WMU had beaten Toledo, WMU would be 2-0, not 2-1. 01-wingedeagle
