RE: G5 Race
I agree with your list, but I still think a 1-loss AAC/MWC team would overtake them.

RE: G5 Race
The reality is that unless there is a VERY good reason to go a different direction, the highest rated G5 champ in the final regular season coaches poll will get the access bowl bid.

If the committee poll looks anything like the AP and coaches, ECU controls it's own destiny

And you don't think Marshall's FCS schedule is a very good reason? I think it is.

RE: G5 Race
the MAC was eliminated today

sunbelt was eliminated some weeks ago

its basically

marshall (rest of c-usa is out)

temple, ecu
colorado st and air force (even though they likely lose todayy)

the re-entry process from my perspective is..if all teams above collapse

boise is the first back into the equation, then ucf then probably niu followed by goergia southern..beyond that its a free for all

It's Marshall vs. ECU, because Marshall isn't losing. Their schedule is just..

When your oc schedule is one of the worst in D1 and playing NO top 25 teams how can you even think Marshall could be in top 25. A lot of teams with one and two losses Not in top 25 would beat Marshall and would be undefeated, too. There is an old saying, "you are as good as teams you play"......No top 25 teams or wins so sorry Marshall.

Is it a good reason to choose Colo St or East Carolina if they are ranked 1-2 spots behind Marshall in the final poll? Sure.

But if no one is ranked within 5 spots of Marshall in the final coaches poll, Marshall is getting the bid. Sorry.

I believe that's exactly what I'm saying. An undefeated Marshall does not deserve the G5 slot. Sorry, that schedule is embarrassing. A 1-loss team from MWC or AAC should get the consideration. Hope that clears it up.

They may not deserve it, but I'd bet money that if they're the highest ranked team at the end of the year they'll get the spot.

They won't. The committee decides final rankings, and they won't give it to Marshall with that high school schedule. If they do, just wait and see what schedules look like going forward.

Actually Colorado State can not be the G5 representative unless Boise State loses another game, because Boise State beat Colorado State and since they both are in the same division of the MWC; then Colorado State can not go to the MWC Championship game unless Boise State loses at least one more game and Colorado State wins out.

Marshall isn't passing ECU in the coaches poll as long as ECU keeps winning.

I don't think that's what anyone was suggesting. It was more of a theoretical situation if ECU dropped a game and ended up a few spots behind Marshall.

They lost to a bad NC State school so I don't think it would matter
