Right. And we don't like it. It's not the logo we prefer. You know that, right? Doe?

You should take Bob Winn's place doe

RE: The Blob's Official Debut?
I realize that it looks really lame and took absolutely minimum effort to cut the head off the leaping tiger logo.

Call me a traditionalist. I prefer a well known, Unique Logo that screams Memphis Tigers. Why water that down?

I agree it's matter of personal taste to some extend so I also vote with my pocket book - I have refused for years to by any hat, shirt, or any Tiger gear for that matter that has the Blob on it anywhere.

Just watch it for a few weekends. You might become a convert.

I liked the uniforms we wore in the Porter era, silver/gray helmets and pants to match.

So are we going to have gray helmets or wear blue pants and blue helmets?

Oh, wait. I just realized you guys are talking about when Porter was a player. Not Coach. Correct?

03-lmfao Well...Fashion is a thread I can really sink my teeth and cc into.

I've bought 5 shirts in the last 4 weeks, and not one of them has that half Tiger coming over the M. I already have plenty like that, and one of them has a line through a circle with vols in the middle. No Vols in the jungle '92. So.....................................

Yeah, when he played, sort of the Cowboys uniform scheme. But I like all the stuff they are wearing now. It's all about recruiting.

RE: The Blob's Official Debut?
I like a lot of the new stuff. Some of it is very interesting.

On the Coach's show they have been asking players about personal taste in music, pre-game routines, pregame meals, uniforms etc,

Most of the players have a favorite uniform - mainly color schemes etc. I Don't recall helments mentioned as much other than one or two player(s)- one liked the Chrome and stripes and one like the blue and gray with our traditional helmet, etc.

Seems like the Black Jersies were a favorite.

It is about the players but from what I see, you cannot point to them wanting one thing or not . . .

Y'all do know Bob Winn hasn't had anything to do with merchandising in about three years, right?

The bottom line is that no team could have overcome the combined suck of the blob and RC in one place. We never had a chance.

It is also true that they have never been shown conservative uniforms (such as Syracuse has) in the official shades of blue & gray.

That is correct. Unfortunately, the ill-advised precedents made during his & RC's tenure have yet to be corrected. I don't care whose fault it was, I just want UofM's tradition and brand strength preserved.

RE: The Blob's Official Debut?
Well here's another approach to the mighty Tiger....and what some call a blob. To link any Tiger to a blob is just mental nit picking. 03-lmfao

Bottom Line. The Tiger is bigger than any artistic rendering we can manufacture--both in part and in whole.

First of all, we are fortunate to have a 'real' mascot. The Tiger is ferocious, astoundingly beautiful and has a history of its own.

"According to the Shaolin Grandmasters, the style is the single most external style in the Shaolin canon; the longer the stylist practices, however, the more she or he comes to rely solely on internal power." Internal Power--our coach is an example of one who has internal power. :)

And so the goal in games is to 'remind' our opponents of the Tiger in all ways even when we are not on the field. To stylistically put the head on our helmets is to link to images that are formed in nature.

Perhaps at some unknown time in an unknown way, our opponents might look to the sky and see the Tiger...just it's head and ferocious teeth... and other memories are triggered that link to us. Thus a seed of weakness gets planted.

Go Tigers.
Prepare to rip some Mustang meat.
