OT: Map of college football fandom
I know how much all MAC fans lament the fact that fans show up to games wearing OSU or UM gear. Well, this story and map really drive the reality of the situation home.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/....html?_r=0

According to the story/map OSU owns the state of Ohio. It is literally no contest. Then North across the border UM owns Michigan, other than where MSU owns it. To the West is ND. Toledo, and other MAC schools are always going to be in an uphill fight for recognition and money. Sigh.

well if you hover over lucas county, it at least mentions Toledo. If you hover over Hamilton County, Cinci Bearcats dont even get mentioned.

We have that going for us!

Well according to some UC fans, this map is way off because they say Cincinnati is majority UC fans, not 0SU. Hahahaha

UC does a good job of recruiting area talent and there's a lot of it to go around. Majority? I'm guessing that would be only in specific neighborhoods with borders gerrymandered in pencil.

Still, I think they do a good job filling their stadium, right? And what better way to beat into the OSU fan dominance than by ignoring it, claiming it doesn't exist and that it isn't necessary. Sometimes, you've got to give people excuse to leave the herd.

There's a note at the bottom about faulty coding that's been corrected to include more of UNC and UCLA, and I can only believe that it happened to UC as well, and wasn't caught. I joke around a lot about Cincinnati actually being a part of Kentucky, but there's really no way that in Cincinnati's zip codes that UK is more popular than UC. Miami Redskin territory is probably off too. I don't see them anywhere and don't buy that Eastern Michigan could have bronze medal zip codes where they are while Miami can't.

Ohio U is one of 3 MAC sites in which I haven't seen a game, and I really would like to, if only to see what they're doing down there that attracts as much as 22% of its people over a pretty decent sized portion of land. Not sparsely populated land by any means, but whatever they're doing down there seems to be working for them.
