Oh no, I'm looking bad on a sports message board
My life is ruined.

All stems from NIU going independent back in the 90's. And there's no regional rival of any sorts. But they've certainly got it going in football. Perhaps everyone sees NIU as their rival.
We have no rivals in the MAC. BSU would be the closest team in proximity to NIU, but not even the cornstalk trophy could escalate a real rivalry between the schools. When we started having success in the early 2000's, Toledo always seemed to beat us, so they became a team we started to despise and it became the game we looked at each year as a big game. Now we have beaten Toledo the last 4 years, so a competitive rivalry has developed, but they have BG so that is always their biggest game. Our natural rivals would be U of I, but we only play every 1 in 15 years and they consider us a pesty little brother and the state considers them the favorite son.

So between the CMU department and the scUM department which sees a firing first? Being asked to resign counts.

If Enos can have success (7-5 or better) then he's gold with Heeke. Even 6-6 Heeke can't fire him. Heek's caught in a problem of his own making. He's hired three coaches and all of them have sucked or have had issues. He hired Enos who put his program in reverse before putting it in neutral in perpetuity. He hired Davis who uses a system that will NEVER win in the MAC. He hired a golf coach who didn't have a college degree (a minimum requirement for the position).
If Heeke fires Enos it's an indictment of his ability to find a successful coach. If he keeps him he can fend off the average fan, and will only get grief from the diehards.
Hoke on the on the other hand can be easily bought out by the money pit that is scUM football. Thing is, he could still go 8-4, not have a very good team, and still be on the hotseat, because the Pig 10 isn't very good.
My money is on Hoke getting the ziggy.

Heeke was hired in December of 2005, pretty sure he has hired more than 3 coaches. Started with Butch Jones...he seems to be doing pretty good. But I can understand why you'd forget a lot of what we did back then, we spent most of that time kicking your ass up and down the field.
RAWLS FOR PRESIDENT!! Screw all of the old ladies, more money for players! Slot machines in the locker rooms! Bring it all! Lets make history!
