For those USF fans that have never been to Provo or even anywhere in Utah...it will certainly be a "must road game" to attend and a great series for USF (just like it is with UCF).

Somewhat shocked at USF would sign a 2-for-1...especially with their success of getting almost every other P5 team to sign home-home. (USF did in the past have some road game check games at Auburn, at Penn State, at Oklahoma...wasn't sure if the game at Michigan State was the first of home-home), just can't recall USF ever signing a 2-for-1 deal before.

I've been. I have a few LDS family members as well. I know BYU. They are a little different that a lot of you guys on the east coast think they are. They are very "firm" in their beliefs. I'll keep it at that. One thing to remember, do not bring alcohol and try to tail gate while in Provo for the game.04-cheers

You're shocked? You actually thought Texas would do a home and home with USF?? That's crazy!

There are certain schools that you will only get them home in a 2-1 like Texas and they are worth it.
There are others like Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame that will only sign AWAY only but they are worth it as UCF knows full well.

agreed. You mentioned Notre dame. If you can get one away game with them you take that NBC game/exposure in a second. I doubt ECU would get that offer, but then again san Diego st and western Michigan got to play Notre dame recently. Tulsa actually won when they got that shot as well....yeah, certain games you take no matter what.

There have been a few exceptions for Notre Dame and Texas. Getting a home game against Texas is worth 2 for 1, plus these games are so far into the future that who knows what the college football landscape will look like.

I am OK about the Texas series, but not as excited as some due to the 2-1. I don't think USF should be doing this. I don't think USF would have done this a few years ago in the Big East.

Oh, and someone asked about Michigan State, yes that is a straight home/home deal, as is Wisconsin, Florida State and whoever else is on USF's schedule.

5-6 years ago when USF was in BE and was constantly entering into the top 25, they may have signed a 1-1 deal.

There are only a small number of schools that USF or any AAC school should even considering doing a 2-4-1.

Getting one of the game’s storied programs to agree to a home game…even at the cost of 2-4-1 is worth it…if it’s done selectively. I view this more as an agreement to give USF three opportunities to make a name for itself against Texas. In contrast, there is no way we should every accept USF making 2-4-1 deals with SEC teams like UK or Vandy just b/c they are SEC.

In fact the only SEC teams worthy of a 2-4-1 would be Florida and Alabama…but Florida doesn’t do non-conference road games…

Nobody worthy in the ACC.

Southern Cal in the PAC-12 and OU and UT in the Big12.

From the B1G I would only consider Michigan and Ohio State…but those teams much like UF don’t give anyone return games P5 or G5 so they are not realistic options

The AAC needs to schedule SEC. If that is even possible.

ECU has games with South Carolina & Florida... but nothing outside of that. The UF deal is one and done... which I hate.

The AAC needs to start scheduling more games against the P5 that they have a real shot at winning.

Is it better for the conference to pick off low hanging and mid pack P5 teams to show they actually can compete or lose to the top of the conference?

A mix of both is best (i.e. games vs Top 10 teams...and then others vs much easier winnable P5 games).

Believe Houston has a series with Vandy coming up.

Memphis is either in the middle or just finished up one with Duke.

Temple has a series with Rutgers.

ECU I think has UNC and NC State in the coming years.

Winnable series are important...but yes, sometimes its hard to get those games (i.e. UCF has series vs Stanford and South Caorlina).
