The Florida Tech Panthers are a D-II program from Melbourne, FL. They fielded their first team in 2013, and are 3-0 coming into this season, with an FCS win over Stetson. They play in the Palm Bay Pirates stadium (high school). I know there are a million other D-I teams in FL, but I can see this team making its way into FCS soon, and possibly into the Sunbelt. What do you guys think?

You just gave us several reasons not to give it any consideration. That said, Florida does invest in school's athletic programs big time. For that reason alone, they will shorten the curve from 20 years for most team to 8-10 years by being in Florida.

Personally, I hope the Sun Belt remains public institutions.

Florida Tech is a private school without the resources of say, Liberty, so I don't see them making huge jumps over the next few years.

Why do I get credit for every mention of a new SBC potential new member?

I know... I know ....just kidding.

Of the Florida schools on the pecking order, fla tech would be behind

FGCU
UNF
FAMU

Before you newbies chime in, I know the first two do not have football programs and one is an HBCU. You have to know the history. 04-cheers
