Nope, cause in a couple of years we'll be drawing 50,000 to the Liberty Bowl every game.

Man I hope! And hopefully we can do it without having to do $5 tickets. Btw, is the rib contest happening again for the spring game?

Yes!

Right on! Can't wait.

Here's a list of upcoming new Univ projects for the state...which includes the new $62 Million Univ of Memphis Student Rec Center....however, nothing noted on new football practice facility. (Maybe if built with all private funds it wouldn't be listed)

ETSU, which disbanded their Div I-AA Football Program in 2003, received approval last fall from their Student Govt to fund the start up cost of their new $18 Million stadium, that will sit between 6,500 - 10,000 initially but will be built with expansion in mind to 30,000.

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission approved the location of East Tennessee State University's new football stadium back in Nov 2014 as part of the university's updated master plan.

With new Div I-A programs in the region (Old Dominion to UNC Charlotte to Georgia State and Georgia Southern), ETSU would be a good addition to others in the region.

Interesting that the artist chose powder blue in depicting all the roof-tops despite being obviously aware of the darker blue used on the artificial turf field. WHY????

Seriously, it is a heat-gain issue. The lighter the color, the less gain. Medium Grey would probably be more appropriate from a operational cost perspective.

IPF

there is probably an obvious answer to this:

why don't they make it a little bigger and put some bleachers in there and play high school football games, the blue gray game, and soccer games in there..

Because the university & the city are not synonymous - thankfully.

so, the rumor isn't true that they're taking out the indoor track from the facility to punish the track team cause one of its member flashed the jumbotron camera at last week's football game??????

Maybe some BE influence in the original design but the likely driver was the change in NCAA rules associated with liberalizing meal allowances for athletes. The new rules have caused a number of D-1 universities to add cafeteria facilities to their practice complexes.

Indoor football practice facilities are rarely used except when it is cloudy and/or cold outside.

Honestly - you don't know what you're talking about. Go google every other practice facility that's been built in the past 5 years.
