OT: Don't know how many of you are into betting. . . My picks for week 5
If any of you are into this like me I would love to hear your thoughts. I pretty much just do it for fun, nothing serious. Bets typically ranging from $5-$50, although I have bet over $50 twice on my pirates.
TCU (-31) @ SMU
BGSU @ UMASS (+10)
WKU @ NAVY (-6.5)
FIU @ UAB (-13.5)
Memphis (+20) @ Mississippi
UTSA (-4) @ FAU
Colorado @ Cal (-10)
Temple (-4) @ Uconn
Duke (+4) @ The U
Notes:
I am 17/24 on the season (71%)
Biggest Win ($100) - UNC @ ECU (-2)
Biggest Loss ($25) Hawaii (+8.5) @ Colorado
I have bet against SMU every game and bet on ECU every game and so far it hasn't failed.
My 'sure things': UTSA and Temple

I actually have a joint-thing going with my friend -- we each split our winnings and our losses 50/50. The stipulation is that we both have to agree on a bet before we make it. It is like the nuclear launch principle, where both airmen have to turn their keys in order to launch.
So far, this football season, we are about even, although we are up about $510 right now, because we had to send some payments in.
I don't usually make my picks until later in the week, but right now I like:
Duke +4
Notre Dame -11
Texas -14
Boston College -6.5
Wisconsin -33

I like to stick to teams I follow (you'll notice I am very CUSA/AAC heavy, but I really like those BC and Notre dame picks.
CSU has to fly across the country and play what will be a morning game for them. Notre Dame seems like a great pick too, Syracuse went to the wire with an FCS team and lost soundly to Maryland.
Although Kansas is terrible, I am not convinced texas knows how to put point on the board while stopping their opponent defensively.
The Wisconsin spread is just too large for me. USF is bad, but I am not sure they will get beat by that much. Wisco put up huge points on the board last week but only 37 on an FCS opponet the week before. I liked what I saw in USF run D last week albeit against uconn.

Sports betting is terrible with a 10% juice but that said I put $100 on Memphis.

It's been profitable for me so far. With how much time I dedicate to college football I might as well try and make some money off it. Memphis is on of the games i'll go 'heavier' on for sure.

Don't bet on sports to make money. That's never going to work out for you in the long run.
Bet on sports to make random games more entertaining.

I have a job and fairly diversified investments.
Part of the entertainment for me is winning/losing money.
I don't even watch half the games I bet on to be honest
