The News and Observer this morning has the following delusional and arrogant quote from one of the UNC football players after the game yesterday: “They’re not better than us,” Donnie Miles, a UNC freshman linebacker, was screaming as he walked off the field."

I loathe it when people do not know how to win with grace, so I am hesitant to even post this quote. I mainly do so, to show folks what ECU has been dealing with for decades when it comes to UNC. They really do in their hearts believe they are better than the ECU community . To lose in the way UNC did and for one of their players to still be this arrogant says it all.

He just ain't got used to losing yet. Most of their team just looked dejected leaving. I was sitting above their tunnel and we were all just waving and smiling at them as they left and every time they looked up at us they'd look back down real quick

After hearing about the academic shenanigans at UNC, maybe the kid simply doesn't know what the word "better" means?

I was sitting field level about 15 feet behind the UNC bench at the 50 yard line for the game and I was amazed how none of the players seemed to be focused on the game. The were laughing and joking, even when it was just a two score game and UNC still had a chance, and seemingly not paying attention to coaches when they were being talked to. It was almost as if they didn't care what happened. These were starters too, Switzer, Thorpe, Williams, and Scott. I do have to give them a little credit though, they took a good bit of ribbing without losing their cool late in the game.

They honestly believe the crap they say...ECU is beneath us. It really never occurred to them, until it was to late, that they would loose this game. I believe the thought never crossed their minds. This is what fuels the fire for this game.

Besides the remedial math class to learn that 70 is greater than 41, he also needs a basic English class to learn that he should have said "They are not better than we."

That's a sign of a bad coach more than anything.
