Let me ask you all this, does Franklin need to do anything else to win MAC FOY? His performance and stats have been amazing so far. Are there any other MAC freshmen that could give Franklin a run for MAC FOY?

I honestly think Franklin could sit the rest of the regular season and still win MAC FOY.

I might not be remembering this right, but Ben Reed won FOY in basketball, and he got injured in a game against Ball State. I was at the game, but I can't remember at what point of the season that was.

Jack Milas could make a late run

You guys seemed to struck gold with Franklin....sure wish NIU could of snagged him since he is from the Chicago area.

I think he has only fumbled once - maybe twice - all season (none lost), and that was very early in the year. I thought of posting about this here two or three games ago, but didn't want to jinx it. He's been so good and so consistent that I don't even think I'm jinxing him bringing it up now.

That said, if he coughs one up in Oxford, I know I'll deserve the impending verbal beatdown coming my way.

Franklin made up some serious ground yesterday.

Rawls was out against EMU, Tevin Coleman had a rough day against scUM, and Ameer Abdullah got injured.

Rush yards: 2nd in the nation at 1,330 (12 yards behind Pitt's James Conner who had a monster day vs. Duke)
Rush attempts: 1st in the nation by a long shot with 242
Rush TD's: 1st in the nation by a long shot with 22 TD's (Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon is closest with 18)

It would be nice to see Franklin get some Heisman votes, he CERTAINLY deserves it.

Amen to that! JP's response in the game thread was perfect - and much deserved!

It is amazing to think that Franklin has carried the ball 242 times and has only lost one fumble all season. As a fellow Bronco texted me moments after that happened: "Well...it looks like he is human after all."

MAC Freshman of the Year should be a lock. If he keeps up his current pace for three more games - in consideration with our turnaround this season - an awfully strong argument for Franklin as MAC POTY can be made.

4th quarters are RB's bread and butter when it comes to running up the yardage.

Yep, he sat.

Although I'd love to see him pad the stat sheet and take the lead, resting the starters was by far the most prudent thing to do at that point in the game.

I really worry that this kid could get poached like Paul was.

It's a big risk for him, because he has to sit out a year, a kid that's ahead of him while he's setting out could become intern he'd at the position, or he could simply get beat out. It's a lot less risky in hoops. None the less I could see it happening.

Heck, if Fleck were offered a new job, I assure you he'd try to take Franklin with him.
