Franklin
Franklin will have a field day! My guess is another 3 touchdowns and 150 yards plus! This game will be a blow out

RE: Franklin
Murray gave up 6.6 yards a carry for 325 vs Louisville... who passed for 64% for 178 yards. And scored 66 pts.

I think Franklin, assuming the turf isn't a massive disaster due to rain, should run for ~200 if we don't mix up the RBs too much. Overall running for us? I'd say 225-250.

RE: Franklin
Franklin is just barely second in yardage and per rush in the MAC to Toledo senior Hunt. All with only 2 games under his belt to 3 for Hunt.

I expect him to go for about 170 tonight. We'll spread the ball around, I'm betting. Keep an eye on Braverman tonight, too. And Phillips on returns.

Quote:For the third consecutive week, Franklin rushed for three touchdowns in a game. His total of nine rushing touchdowns is one shy of the team total from last year. He became the first WMU running back to rush for at least 100 yards in three consecutive games since Robert Sanford in 2000.

Daryen Chance is not an every other down back. He, like most backs has to get into a rhythm. When given successive carries he got into one. He's a good back and can contribute significantly.

Rather than bring him in when Franklin needs a blow I'd rather see him come in on a series of downs, and if needed bring Franklin in for short yardage situations.

Franklin is carrying to much of the load and risks getting beaten up or hurt. As a former NFL guy I have to believe Fleck knows you can't overwork a player over the course of a season. Give Franklin the bulk of the carries, but let Chance play enough successive plays to get in a rhythm. We'll be a better team for it.

RE: Franklin
Chance seems to come in on third downs alot probably because of pass protection which is always difficult for a freshman. One bad carry in 3 games for Franklin is impressive. We have rarely had this type of back before. Even bonds was not as tall or they are light. Franklin is the kid of back you would make on a video game. Perfect package and you would think he can only get better. Would love to see him around 20 carries a game and get chance 10 or so just to keep Franklin out of the training room.

You just never see a guy like that at a MAC school. He's almost 'SEC like'. Incredible recruit, I have to say.

Great way to say it. Might be the best recruit I have ever seen this early in a career.

RE: Franklin
Have to agree with other posters in this thread. Franklin is incredibly impressive in his first three games. Surprised to see the heavy reliance on him with 30 carries though. Chance played a lot late, and as Dip would say, got into his rhythm. I think he ended up with 90 or so yards for the game. Great, considering he was the 2nd back.

I just hope that PJ paces his use of Franklin and limits his touches. Chance has proven that he can share the load.
