If they're good enough to beat USA@ Mobile, they're good enough to take one of two of those which may be enough with every other contender drawing strong opponents.

True, jury is still out on a lot of teams. Can't really deny their road to the championship is substantially friendlier than other's, though.

Unless of course, a team with 77 scholarship players gets hit hard by injuries or normal attrition at this level.

My goodness. Contrary to some of our more boastful fans we have a long way to go. We are 1-2 right now and have not won 1 Sun Belt game yet. It is a little premature to crown us yet, don't you think?

Yeah if we were to beat one of those ACC teams, then this thread would have more clout. Even still immediate success means nothing when we have yet to play a full season of back to back FBS games. It would be nice to be king again though

I thought I read that Georgia Southern signed a bunch of SEC transfers last year in FCS. Marshall did the same thing when entering the MAC and dominated.

Contrary to popular belief, we were pretty loaded with pretty good athletes last year for an FCS team. We had 3 straight semi final runs the previous years. We just had a ton of injuries (~20 scholarship players out) and a coaching staff that was experimenting heavily with offense schemes throughout last year. Schematic wise, the Florida game was the best game we played. We really spread them out and our OL was knocking them in the teeth every play.

Marshall loading up on transfers is the reason the transition period is in place now to prevent teams from doing that again.

GS has not even played a conference game yet. If injuries start piling up on D, we are in trouble.

I keep reading how GS is not having to face State and ULL. As if they can control that. Maybe State and ULL are lucky they don't face GS, anyone thought about that?

To the OP, not gonna happen even if we win this week. I'm doubting we leave Mobile with a win, our pass defense can be a problem.
