serious question.

why would the conference office set them up with such an easy conference schedule? was it promised to get them on board?

if i was an appy state fan i'd be pissed about it.

i was shocked when the schedule came out and ga southern had to play neither.

i'm just trying to understand the logic out of the league office. if ga southern does win it should have an asterisk. 04-cheers

Look at their Sun Belt schedule and tell me that if they beat USA, they don't have a high chance of beating everyone else.

Then look at ULL, stAte, and Texas State's schedule, and tell me they wont all beat each other up. It has less to do with USA and more to do with the fact every other contender has to play each other.

By having a schedule consisting of Georgia State, Idaho, NMSU, and a fellow FCS transfer in App

Yep, it was the only way Sun Belt could drag us away from the SoCon & FCS Football.

Perhaps it is they that should get the asterisk should they receive the conference crown without having to face Southern! Perhaps....

ya, when the schedule came out I thought it was strange, App has the hardest, GS the easiest, you think they would have balanced it out better for both teams. I guess we pissed somebody off at the Commissioner's office.

I will say that an X factor in all this is Georgia State. Don't know where that team's equilibrium will balance out at- could be the definition of trap game for Southern. Speaking from experience.

Look ULM BEAT #8 Arkansas, barely lost to Baylor, and took Auburn to OT in 2012. All of those are more impressive than Georgia Southern's near misses so far. I'm very impressed with GS and they scare me, but after that run for ULM, we got some injuries and still didn't win the conference. There is a LOT of football left to be played and as injuries mount and we get I to conference play, a lot can and will happen. It's still anyone's championship.

Lol...although, nice wins, Arkansas was a joke that year. They went 4-8 and beat an even worse Auburn team, who didn't win a single conference game (3-9). Still good wins for the SBC...but more importantly...did you really bring up stats from a schedule 2 years old? How many of the starters from that ULM team are still playing? I'm not going to say that GS is going to win the conference because it's a ridiculous assumption at this time (especially since we haven't played a single conference game yet)...beating Arkansas is a step up, but a close loss to an atrocious Auburn is at best parallel to our results this year.

In the last three seasons, stAte has lost 3 total conference games.

In the last three seasons, stAte has lost 1 game to an existing member of the conference.

Whether that fits your definition of "juggernaut," or not, it's pretty damn dominant.

I stand corrected, A State is a juggernaut. Are you A STATE fans happy now? Have I bowed down and paid enough respect?

Posted from my mobile device using the CSNbbs App
No they are not a juggernaut, just more talented than the other sbc teams even with a lot of injuries.

GaSo is at best the 4th best sbc team when it comes to talent.

Do have a favorable schedule, but unlike the P5's that did not take your team seriously, or thought they had you beat badly at the half), the sbc teams will.

UL is the favorite , and A-State, USA, ULM,GaSo and maybe TxSt are in the mix.

A-State, based on them being a slight favorite over Utah State(the best team left on their schedule) will probably be favored in all their remaining games. Not saying that they will win all their games mind you, just be favorites. .

Based on being a slight underdog to USA this weekend I expect GaSo will be the underdog in a couple of more games after this weeked.
