How is the champion determined?
Two each get a Trophy and are considered Conference Champions. For Bowl Purposes, Arkansas State is given the automatic Bowl berth because GSU is ineligible for a bowl.
Well dang then. Guess I'll have to pull against Ark State one time this year. Go App State? Double puke this week!
Just an FYI, the SBC does not have a tiebreak in determining conference champ. If two teams finish tied, they are each declared champs, regardless of head to head result.
Wat
The Socon only used tiebreakers to determine the playoff autobid.

Wat
That's just dumb.
Can we get a vote to fix that problem. I mean, even the SoCon could figure that one out.

SBC doesn't do tiebreaks. Provided both teams are going to make a bowl anyway, the league just declares both teams co champions and moves on. In BUBBAS Cup terms, you get points indicating a shared title.
Obviously, if we get a league title game, that changes.

We were still co champs though for the conference, so that was exactly the same. As stated, the tie breaker only decided the auto bid.

Right. Head to head only comes into play in determining which team must get selected for a bowl. If Both co champs are going to go anyway...then you never hear anything about the tiebreak.
The same theory goes in every league sport. Tiebreak only is used for postseason purposes. If you share a title in basketball, you half the Bubbas Cup points. You just use the tiebreaker for tourney seeding.

I'd say a good chunk of you swallowed it hook, line and sinker.
3) And allow the group that feels we have no right to think our team is good get upset. We must pretend we are going 0-8 in conference. Anything other than that is just plain cockiness.
+1 Hilarious, usual drivel on here. GS fans don't even start this dumb ass thread and we still get blasted.

Another reason for a league title game.
It's the same reason CFB needed a playoff and the reason that game ties were done away with.
