Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! Fair Weather fans always have an excuse.
Do you really think this attitude will pull in more fans?
My neighbor is a FAIR WEATHER fan and I talked to him into going to the Ole Miss and MTSU game. So,yes it can be done. He is now trying to get a few people at his work to go that have always said: I will go when they start winning. So my idea to you is to start talking to these type of fans and get to them start coming to games. Starting this Sat. So I have no problem with my attitude because I am talking to people (Fair Weather, TN. Ole Miss, Ar. fans) every week about going to the tigers games.
Ill bet you are not goading them into coming by calling them fair weather fans ...
you are probably encouraging them to come and telling them how fun it will be

You bet. I am telling them both of these things. They admit they are fair weather fans and most of them admit they have never been at Tiger Lane. Once they have they are shocked how great it is. Again, my idea to you is. Start talking to the people that say they will start coming when the Tigers start winning or play a better schedule. Tell them to come for a great party at Tiger Lane. I will be at Oxford and New Orleans for these games. Go Tigers and every body bring a friend to the game tomorrow and show off Tiger Lane and the Tigers: cheers to you and your tailgate part:

First, the shuttle thing has really turned off quite a few longtime fans who normally make the sojourn.
Second, many - including me - are more focused on the road trips to New Orleans, Dallas, and Cincinnati.
Third, why spend about $150 for two tickets, shuttle bus, gas driving down, and maybe a Coke or two when you can attend any one of multiple watch parties in Shelby county? I've gotten 3 invitations already from my brother and two friends.
Oh, there will be a few thousand or so. But not the 4000 that normally shows.
To not to drive 70 miles to watch Memphis play an SEC team is pathetic. I don't care how you rationalize it-

I've made the trip quite few times, callem.
Last time was a decade ago when MEMPHIS was the favored team and won the season opener.
Life is about choices. I'll watch this one on tv, and go to other road games like I did two weeks ago to Pasadena.

maybe you don't know this, but I have 30-50 people come to our tailgate every game... over half of them are new fans.. I did not goad them into coming, I told them how fun it would be, my group sold 12 new season tickets this year..
I know a little about getting people to come.

Look we both are trying to get more fans to come to our games. It doesn't matter how we do it, as long as we get more fans to come. You can do it your way and I will do it my way and I hope the final result is more fans come and find out how great Tiger Lane is and how much fun it is. Now: Let's all go have fun today at Tiger Lane and pull for the Tigers. Go Tigers.

I have been to every game at Mississippi since 1980. I was told that new policy is unless you have a parking pass, you can't park on campus. is this true?

RE: stubhub ole miss
That is correct; a parking pass is mandatory.
Seriously, quite a few of the "non pathetic"(?) TIGER fans said that is a show stopper for them. I understand Mississippi also refused to allow the Highland Hundred to bring their planned bus and park it near the stadium. If the bus trip was done, it also had to park in Oxford and shuttle in. So the HH cancelled that planned bus trip.
So, yeah, the number of MEMPHIS fans will be less.
