"should beat" ... as annointed under what law (law as defined as a statement of fact...not in the judicial sense for you slower Memphis grads).

Is it because you guys were allowed to change your name and we are not? Is it because TSU under the Geier Lawsuit never set out to stymie professional programs at Memphis as they did at MT? Or is it because you guys actually believe you play at a higher level (by again invoking Tatoo from Fantasy Island?)

The reality which may be tough for some of you to grasp is that we both come from similar origins (we just had a tougher time growing up than you guys did due to external factors), we are both looking up athletically at power conferences and neither of us are ever likely to see ourselves be invited to one of those type leagues. There isn't but maybe a handful of teams that would beat either one of us 10 out of 10 times if we played that many in all of college football, which means that just about anyone can beat anyone else on any given Saturday. Perhaps that's too much logic for this board, but whatever.

Good luck rest of the season. I have no ill will toward Memphis. I do; however, find the holier than thou attitude some Memphis fans have as utterly and completely unjustified. Cheers!

Anyone that does not understand that we SHOULD beat MTSU 75% of the time is not very bright.(or an MTSU homer)

Our athletic budget is double MTSU's

Our conference is miles ahead of MTSU's

Our Football program's budget is larger than MTSU's

MTSU plays 'buy' games, we do not.

Our 'disappointing' attendance this weekend would be MTSU's largest crowd ever.

MTSU has done a better job than we at football over the last 7 years, it is not because they should be better, it is because they have worked harder AND smarter than us....

We think that is changing, Saturday will be a good indicator of if Memphis is doing what it SHOULD do.

And to correct you none of us are living off the past to indicate the outcome of this weekend. Just seems strange how quickly you all can minimize recent events while at the same time attempting to validate your self-prescribed superiority over that lil ole pee hole of a school in Murfreesboro. It is if nothing else excellent comedy and entertaining. In fact, for those of you who have meandered over to the CUSA board you will note that I'm actually on the record that this is probably toughest matchup for us since the series started. I wholeheartedly believe that Memphis is improved and has a better team than any of the previous six.

That said, the delusion or at least the lack of awareness of "recent" history is astounding by some of you. But carry on in your fantasy land. Don't let me get in the way. We'll just keep enjoying the amusement. Thanks for the laughs.

You nailed it. And it is not isolated to just MTSU. For example, teams from the P-5 with huge budgets and strong support should beat Memphis at least 75% of the time.

How come Middle doesn't remember that it took some bad refs calls for their team to win last year?
I mean the AAC had to apologize to Justin Fuente last year for them.

What do they want from us. Respect for beating us. Heck who hasn't. Mad that we are not continuing the series but don't like playing us and hate Memphis. Want us to believe they are in a better conference than us that we helped found then left for more money with practically every team

Lol. They act like an ex wife

Wrong thread, but I've always thought it was dumb to not figure out some way to charge...err collect "donations" for admittance to MM.

We can't afford to waste a single revenue generating opportunity.

I'm ready for the series to be over. It was an interesting experiment but there is nothing for us to gain by playing you guys. So, I'm with your folks on this one. Time to move on and experience something new.

You may need to talk to your coach.

" I love the game, I loved it since we started playing it and I'm not just saying that because we have had so much success against them. I think it's a natural game, it's two teams that are separated by three and a half hours."

https://memphis.rivals.com/content.asp?C...&PT=4&PR=2

My opinions on this issue do not reflect him and his do not reflect me. But he says that about every in state school even the I-AA schools and UT. I think he fails to acknowledge there are only four OOC opportunities in a given year. Can't play everyone.

I do not know the plans of the Tiger AD, but hopefully we both get what we want by ending the series.

Good grief.

What's so difficult to understand? We should beat you this year because "we", and many others, simply think we have a better team.

In years past, MTSU "should" have won and did for those same reasons.

Sorry...calls ,me like I see ,em.

Memphis certainly does not have a storied football history, but, is one of those schools that has a large number of big wins...unlike Middle...and is a major name brand in college sports...even if most is from basketball.

Good for Middle that they have been better than Memphis during this half decade of arguably the worst stretch ever for Memphis football. Memphis does not want to be Middle, even if yes, we get the writer's point, that while in CUSA, Memphis would have liked to have been on top...even if being on to of today's CUSA is a lesser achievement.
