Trying to figure out where Memphis fans will be tailgating at on campus next weekend? I remember being there the last time we beat the rebels and being with a lot of other tiger fans in 1 particular lot. However looking at there website it seems like the whole campus area is permit only. any help would be apprecatied.....

you cannot park on their campus without a pass. you must park at the walmart and ride a shuttle bus in. have fun with that.

Really? The last time I was down there, we tailgated by Tad Smith, that sucks! What a sorry excuse for an academic institution that place is.

Ditto on parking by Tad Smith ... That's always where we used to park, although It's been several years since I've been there for a game ...

My wife gets invited to on campus housing at the alumni hall there a few times a year for a special alumni tailgate party. As luck would have it this would be one of the times we could go but we won't be back that weekend.

She has a friend that she worked with in Desoto County schools who has been tailgating at the same spot for probably 20 years now, and he comes down from the boot heel of MO for all Ole Miss home games.

We had some good times down there. Miss those opportunities way out here in TX.

There are other parking areas other than the Mall/Wal-Mart. You can park at Whirlpool, which is on the south side of Highway 6 off Old Taylor Road. If you are coming from East Memphis, you're probably going to take 78 to 7, in which case, you can get off at the Molly Barr Exit and take that to Price Street or Sisk Avenue and park at Oxford High School. You'll definitely need to take a shuttle from OHS, but the other three areas are walkable. The Mall/Wal-Mart lot is directly across campus from Fraternity Row and is a straight shot down it to the stadium.

I usually park at the Price Street lots and walk my tailgate gear to the Circle. Parking at those lots is free. There is parking at various churches and neighborhoods between there and campus that if you arrive early enough you can get a spot for $20 - $50.

BTW, for those wondering about the new parking policy...in the past, it's been a free-for-all where people could pretty much park wherever they could squeeze in their car. But, similar to Memphis facing ADA violations with the Liberty Bowl, Ole Miss was found to have violated ADA with the parking policy (or lack thereof) - particularly where parking resulted in the blocking of sidewalks, crosswalks and rights-of-way.

With limited on-campus parking, most of it had to shift off-campus. I've never taken the shuttle service - I hear it's hit-or-miss in terms of getting in and out quickly. Like I said, though, three of the main off campus lots are walkable to campus, so you can avoid the shuttle if you want.

2 miles? No way - maybe a mile and I stress maybe. You must be mapping from the actual Wal-Mart to the stadium. That may be 2 miles.

The parking is at what is actually known as the old Wal-Mart/Oxford Mall location.

Ok that's a mile. But how much parking does that mall give up and how quickly does it fill up? I've no intention of making this a day long affair

I am still up in the air about whether to make this trip. The thought of making that 1+ mile walk back to my car after the game - win or lose - is not something I look forward to.

Does anyone know when we have to return our unsold ticket allotment back to Ole Miss?
